Amazing stuff this, even at the usual price it is a cheap way to buy garlic and ginger. The ginger is great, but it is the garlic that takes some beating and is the best brand I have had for frozen garlic, it is not as brown or yellow discoloured as some brands are. OK it's not *quite* as good as fresh, and I wouldn't use it where it is only going to be lightly cooked or get a lot of frying as it will burn being a fairly fine purée, but for long cooked foods its great.
My local Morrisons often run out of it though.
Used 4 blocks of it it today in a large pan of Chorizo & white Bean stew!

peeling garlic takes literally seconds, what's the issue?
we always have fresh garlic in, but don't use ginger as much, so I might give this a try.

Not in the quantities I tend to use! Stinks enough (to other people) when you eat it but hands reek for 3 days when you peel it too. It also keeps for a relatively short time and dries up, you think you have plenty in and find half of it is just dried out husks when you are in the middle of cooking a dish! Beside, cost alone - there must be the equivalent of easily five or six quids worth of fresh in one pack when it is 55 to 60p for 2 tiny heads in a supermarket. I do buy fresh for particular dishes, but not often.
