This game is repetitive but then again I said the same thing about games such as Dragon Age Inquisiton and Fallout 4 after half a dozen or so hours!
The visuals are fantastic and it has a half decent storyline if you're into the Roman period. For a few quid it's worth a go, absolutely!

I don't think it was terrible, it was actually pretty interesting. Far from perfect, the combat system wasn't great by any means, but it was still ok and it certainly looked good. At this price I think it's worth a play, you will get a few enjoyable hours from it. As a game it was disappointing given it's budget, but a lot of that was really money spent on cryengine and like crysis in the past it was really as much tech demo as game.

I enjoyed it a lot, it's short and shallow but fun, satisfying and visually stunning. Well worth the money.

Good story if totally historically wrong and play on hard mode really is hard! Well worth it at this price and satisfying for a quick stress reliever!

I see this pop up now and then and I honestly wouldn't agree. Maybe people use the word hard in the wrong terms or I look at it differently ?
For me Darksouls is unforgiving but not hard. The game mechanics are very simple once you take a minute or two to remember the attack animation and swing timers of each mob. I can understand people stating its hard due to the "YOU DIED" screen then travelling back to the last bonfire and repeating a section two or three times but if you concentrate and learn the mechanics it becomes pretty easy after several hours of game play.
It's a steep learning curve for those who play games on easy and have 24/7 hand holding (Checkpoints).

Completely agree about Dark Souls. Only nerds yap about how difficult it is to beat, perhaps to make themselves feel a little better about life once they have! It's not difficult at all, and if you have enough patience to roll around for 5 minutes when fighting a boss and noting it's pattern then you can beat any boss without so much as getting touched. Each to their own of course but for me that series is massively over-hyped.

Picked this up, thanks OP. If it turns out to be a bit rubbish or not for me, can't complain at this price. Also interested to see what how my newly built desktop handles this as I've not had one for a few years.
Edit: Heat added

It reminded me of great looking double dragon scrolling beat em up. Just lacked and feeling of being in control.
