I've always liked sony phones, and had the z3 compact. I absolutely loved it...and so upgraded to the Z5 compact. Big mistake, the phone is great...however it keeps rebooting randomly even with using it. It gets very hot, very quickly when put under moderate usage.
Maybe I've got a dud, but am very dissapointed in what would otherwise be a cracking phone.

I done the same thing. I loved the z3 compact and was really excited by the z5, but it was a major letdown. It is basically just the same phone but mine had a dodgy camera (half the photos were black squares) I returned it and because sony have now stopped the z series, i paid a bit extra and got an s7 edge instead.

I second that - Sony have taken out loads of features that came standard with the Z series and allocated between 3 different phones to make them more "appealing" to "target audiences"... to me, it's just an excuse to sell a cheaper made product at the same premium price for a better profit margin. Only the top end model if waterproof now if I'm correct? Going for a Samsung S7 Edge next me'thinks, or S8 Edge depending on what it's brining to the table.

After having read the comments about this being phone so toasty, I might stay away. If only there was another flagship android phone with a 4" - 4.5" screen. Might have to iPhone SE it :disappointed:

Z3 compact is great, I got a grade b from Smartfonestore for £150 a few months ago, really nice phone.

It is a great phone, unfortunately sony's support is a joke, I am on my 4 th Z3 in the last 2 months, as they keep sending me refurbs which clearly still have issues, and each time it takes 2 weeks to sort out.. its really really put my off the 'Xperia Brand' because otherwise the Z3 is quite possibly the best mobile I have ever owned, esp for battery.

Wow 4 replacements in 2 months. Tbh I would ask for a refund after the second. Bravo for perseverance

I like my Z3. But it has gone off for repair, so now using an iphone 5S in the meantime. Pity Sony have decided to make a mess of their phone range with the X series.

Couldn't agree with this more! I've had two break (flap and vibration on one) vibration on the next so now on my third...and camera doesn't work on the one they sent me! but I can't bring my self to deal with there customer service again, the last time u used them I actually had my wife film me pack it has I had to really fight with them the first time after it got destroyed (like smashed to bits) the first time. But despite me filming myself packaging it with photos and newspapers for reference and even a pic of the courier with it (no joke) when it arrived it was cracked so charged me £70 and it took 2 weeks and the camera doest work!! Ffs great phone though....really is fantastic I would own one again but you really need a back up phone in case you need to send it in because it takes an age.
