Brilliant price for a fantastic speaker. Good spot OP.
I bought this a month ago for £109 and it's worth every penny at that price. For £79.99 it's an absolute steal. If you like a bit of bass then you can't beat this speaker for it's size to bass response ratio. Nothing comes close. I find I have to use my equalizer app to reduce the bass at times. It's got a lot of ooomph for it's size and the fact that it's portable too. I love mine.

Nice, cheaper than most places (but could have bought from Sony outlet for less than £50 before the place closed but didn't) and thats the problem. Still expensive for what it is

I got mine as a refurb from the Sony outlet https://centresdirect.co.uk/p-13338-srsx55beu8a.aspx for £69 (OOS at present) and it's absolutely brilliant. I already had a Bose Soundlink II and it sounds much better IMHO. The bass is amazing. At this price for a new one it's a steal.

Great little speaker, I find it a bit bass heavy but that could just be me. Easily loud enough to fill quite a large room.

I think it's bass heavy too. I use Equaliser app on android to fix that when necessary.

I have the predecessor of this speaker (the SRS-X5) and find it absolutely outstanding, better than any sub-£400 I've heard personally.

is this a proprietary charger? I have / had a btx300 Sony that has just died. I think it's the charger but a replacement would cost £10, not the end of the world but it's put me off non micro USB chargers!

Yes it's proprietary again I'm afraid.

I think that happened to my original SRS-X5. It stopped charging after a while. Voting HOT for price!

I have one connected by the headphone jack to my kitchen TV. The kitchen can be noisy when cooking and the small tv had a tinny sound that didn't carry well. I purchased this small speaker, speculatively, hoping it would resolve the issue - In fact, the sound is now better than the main TV in the lounge; good bass and crystal clear - I can't recommend it enough...

How is it compared to JBL Flip 3? I have a flip 2 and I am not sure if I should go for Flip 3 or this one? Any suggestions?
