This 48 inch model came up on amazon not for long, and the last two reviews rated 1 star for it, they said:
"As with the first reviewer of this TV, I can only recommend NOT buying it. It doesn't work with a sky box - and as the majority of households have sky this is a big problem. Terrible picture, distortion, flickering - pretty much unwatchable. I've given it a try for a week, played around with the settings to no improvement and am now putting it back in a box to return it"
And
"Terrible TV. Not compatible with SKY TV as makes picture jittery. Colours are awful, sound awful... Was really excited for this product but was let extremely disappointed and sent it back."

Cheap TV though it's not a good TV. If you are happy to replace it within a couple of years fill yer boots, it's cheap for a reason.

Sharp, JVC, Toshiba and various other 'brands' don't make their own TVs, typically manufactured by Vestel or Umc.

To be honest it sounds like you had a faulty TV
Regardless of the picture you feed a TV whether it be Sky, Freeview, freesat or whatever, it not going to make the picture go wonky, that would be a fault of the TV
Just return the tv and get a refund or replacement, simple as that!

I did return it, the problem for me is that the only other review for the 48" model had exactly the same issues. The other Amazon reviews are not for this model - specifying smaller screen sizes, 3 hdmi ports (this model has 2) and are pretty misleading. When I posted my review on Amazon last week there was only 1 other review (the other 1 star review) now suddenly all these other earlier dated reviews have been added. Goes to show how much you can rely on Amazon reviews
