I share prime with my sister (I'm the secondary one).

Not once have the payment details been shared, and with books you can choose whether or not to share them when you purchase them.

Although you are right, it is nice to have the occasional thing like this in Deals as it gets out to a much wider audience.

I tried it with a friend, delivery and video didnt work without shared payment details.

No, but you can share your kindle libraries etc. which can be handy.

Tbf, my wife just uses my account for anything needing urgently delivered and it's my account logged into all the devices for prime video (not that it received much use).

Just to comment on this; if you had them in before you started a Prime student membership, they still have the same things.

I agreed to that when I became linked to my sister's prime account but in reality I have absolutely no access to her payment details, nor her to mine.

One other thing of note is that I only seem to get the prime delivery & Amazon prime promotions but I don't get the video streaming services, I think only the initial prime account holder gets the video streaming services.

I'm not complaining though as for me it's free!

I like Amazon, but I could never justify £80 a year ontop of whatever I am buying just for the convenience of next day delivery.

I use Amazon a lot, but more and more products are 'add-on' items with a minimum £20 spend and I've noticed that frequently their prices are more expensive than other online, or even in-store, shops.

Amazon used to be have good prices but they're now seemingly relying heavily on people being lazy an/or wanting next day prime delivery.

Sharing Delivery definitely doesnt require payment details to be shared. I am sharing delivery without sharing payment details.

Surely if you give her a kids account she won't be able to make purchases on your card? That just sounds like insanity.

Yes I share it with my mum and she doesn't live with me although with the number of times she makes an excuse to just "drop" by she might as well live with me...I particularly liked the time she thought I might be interested in her junk mail and brought it to show me and was then most put it out when I put it straight in the bin...yes ok on reflection I probably should've waited until after she left but you live an learn :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously though we live at different addresses and share prime (I'm the main account holder) but we also had to share our payment details with each other in order to share prime...her payment card is on my account and my payment card is on her account.

It used to - I'm sharing with 4 other people, 2 of whom live elsewhere in the UK. Completely different names, addresses, credit cards etc..

Had it for several years now, though, and they've tightened the rules on more recent subscriptions I believe.

Short answer - Yes. Amazon was barred off here at one point when they didn't do business together.

Well it depends on what part you think is the deal. Previously you could share just the delivery service with several people but that was it. Now you can share all of the Prime benefits but only with one person.

It doesn't share th Amazon prime music aspect so you probably don't want to cancel Spotify. I think video is still shareable but unfortunately not music :disappointed:

Not as much of a mug's game, though, as being unaware that you can quite easily save considerably more over the course of a year than Prime costs. The more astute on here will already know that.............. :wink:

Prime is awesome. I live in a rural area & they provide a fantastic service teamed with a grown up video streaming service which is MUCH better than TeenFlix.
