I looked at these. The only thing that put me off was the spout is too small to fill. You have to flip the lid. Not too traumatic. Also we have another painted Russell Hobbs kettle and the paint is blistering off.

I have their "Windsor" kettle, which is basically the same kettle with some added chrome trim and a different colour led. I'm on my second in three months, the switch failed after a month on the first, and has just failed on the second - the clear switch is apparently held up in the correct position by a strip of clear plastic thinner than a cocktail stick which eventually broke of course, shame really as it was a nice looking kettle. Quite liked the cream paint too as it hid the limescale :@)
Other problem I had was water getting in the lid catch and furring it up so it wouldn't stay shut. Possibly had I thrown away the limescale filter which furs up rather quickly thanks to the hard water it would have helped to prevent water getting in the lid.

Have you tried using a water filter jug? Like a Brita one? Helps make our kettles last a lot longer, makes better tasting tea too.

Had mine 2 months and the lid does not close now. I got from Tesco for £14.75. Also it really gets scaled up on the lid area and on the outside. It looks really bad. I dont mind de-scaling the inside regular, but I cannot get the outsides areas clean at all. But hey it is a good price

Mine is the red version, so maybe it just shows up more ?
