Nice deal. Looking to switch from last year's great Sky deal of phone/broadband for 50p/month - so far this is the best deal.
Plusnet's line rental saver makes it a little cheaper: £185.88 - £110 - £50 = £25.88 for a year. Equivalent to £2.16/month.

I would think not - normally you only get the Quidco cashback when not in conjunction with any other offer! So you may end up claiming the £50 cashback from Plusnet then find that Quidco won't pay out the £110 so you would be worse off than if it was just a straight forward Quidco cashback discount!

Slow Internet and plus line rental. I get fast Internet with no line rental. So works out much better for same price. Only good if you need landline as well. I got sick on unsolicited calls on landline many years ago and was best decision to get rid of it. BT open reach and corrupt Ofcom increase line rental every year for slow victorian pots copper wire connection which they milk very hard even now. You can never get fast Internet on 100 year old copper wires. Speed degrades very fast from the exchange but the milk cart makes everyone believe this is the fastest Internet in 21 century Britain.

Traffic Shaping and restriction nightmares with them, you ring up and they lift it but after a few months you have to request they lift it again. They were a friendly bunch but just lately they have become very BT ish and unhelpful. So much for customer loyalty, would change next time but all Broadband Suppliers seem to have issues when things don't go to right.

Plusnet were good, we've been with them for about 5 years BUT in the past 6 months both their line speeds and customer service have become poorer. Despite them stating that cashback would be received within a specified period it took Plusnet 5 months to pay us our cashback and when we referred them to their T&C they stated that cashback was not covered. We will be leaving them at the end of our existing contract. Not sure if other companies are any better but Plusnet are certainly not as good as they used to be

The worst broadband I've ever had. Says UP TO 17 mbps, the maximum I got lucky with, was 9mbps. On average it was 5mbps. Plus I'm pretty certain Plusnet turn the speed down when you try watching a long video or a movie although they claim they never do in their full of lies adverts on TV. In my experience Plusnet is rubbish. I was with them for 3 years only because I had got a okayish deal every year and didn't know any better plus money was a bit tight then. Soon as I could afford to spend a little extra I joined Virgin Media 50 mbps, which is what I get when doing a speed test and is much much better (Hopefully it stays like that). Anyway, my advice, AVOID or you will be disappointed. If you do join and don't experience any problems then you're one of the lucky ones. Oh yeh, if your a existing customer and been with Plusnet for more than one year and still have the original router, you're buggered if it fails because the router only has a one year warranty/guarantee, therefore you'll have to splash out around £40 squids plus postage which is another £5 I think. Please read some of the reviews online before buying.

Terrible service in the last year after five years sterling performance. Typically thirty to forty-five minutes on hold for any kind of help which you immediately regret. Any faults on their end inevitably end with a pitch to rectify the problem (ie: send a working router or modem) if you resub for another 18 months
philireland1
21 May 161#61
just be careful if you are moving to virgin media after this deal ends, as i did. They charged me to turn off my broadband at the box, £30 + in the end I think I had to pay near £50. they said if I had took my brodband with say bt,talk talk etc they would have took over the line so i wouldnt have to pay but because it was virgin media I would have to pay. now Im with virgin media I would never go back to slow internet, I pay £23 thats a £5 more than what i was paying & it mines we all can watch movies in HD at the same time with out any freezing or problems, we couldn't do this before, I would say its at lase 10 times faster

You are right, they are all pretty hopeless. However my experience with Plusnet was by far the worst (with Virgin now).
I had next to no internet service for eight out of the twelve months I was unlucky enough to be with Plusnet.
When I tried to leave around six months in, they tried to charge me for the remaining months - in spite of my internet barely working.
I have been fortunate so far with Virgin, 200mbs and very few problems - but support -when you need it, could definitely improve.

Got the deal for my mum. Last time she was with Plusnet there were problems, mainly due to Openreach, but they gave her £100 compensation after referring to Ofcom. Problem is I find all providers are **** when problems happen so I go with the cheapest. Also, if you do have problems with a provider don't accept them or argue with them about it, just follow procedure and refer it to Ofcom ( or relevant arbiter).
