For those who missed the recent amazon.de Onkyo deal (like me) but still want an Atmos amp (like me) and don't care about online music streaming or Airplay (like me)
Great deal if you're like me then, that's why I ordered one!
£249 at RS with no stock and £299 everywhere else it seems. Price very approximate. Blurb from RS:
Engineered for Dolby Atmos sound
Optimised for Dolby Atmos, you can be amongst the first to experience the wonder of Dolby Atmos in your own home. Producing a multi-dimensional and totally immersive sound, Dolby Atmos has been hailed as the greatest advance in surround sound for 20 years - so don't miss out! Thanks to the superb value Onkyo TXSR444, this cutting-edge technology is now available for less than ever.
A truly cinematic performer
Using high quality components, such as Onkyo's WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) and HCPS (High Current Power Supply), the TXSR444 sounds great with any movie soundtrack you hit it with. With the option of supporting up to 7.2 speaker systems (5.1.2 Dolby Atmos), an immersive sound is easy to achieve.
Listen to music in another room
When you're not listening to Dolby Atmos or 7.2, you can listen to stereo sound in a second room. Perfect for parties or for when you want music to 'follow' you around the home, Zone B output gives you more music.
The latest connections
To match the latest Dolby Atmos processing, the TXSR444 also comes with the latest connectivity. The TXSR444 features HDMI 2.0a connections and supports HDCP 2.2, which means you can stream UltraHD video and that it's ready for the next generation of 4K discs.
Stream music from your mobile with Bluetooth
With a Bluetooth receiver built in, it's easy to enjoy your music from other devices. Pair with your smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC and wirelessly stream all your favourite music. With the possibility of streaming music services, such as Spotify, Deezer and Tidal, as well as your own music library, you get access to near unlimited music! Advanced Music Optimiser improves the dynamic response from compressed music sources, adding 'sparkle' to the sound and restoring the sound quality.
Ready for your streaming media player
Not only does the Onkyo TXSR444 feature an HDMI input for your choice of media player, it also has a dedicated USB power supply for it. Keep up with your video subscription services and other programs streamed from the Internet with ease.
An excellent AV receiver made awesome by Dolby Atmos, the Onkyo TXSR444 is simply without rival at this price.
Just me that thinks the Onkyo joke is getting old?

Seems a bit expensive for an unknown brand. Might be better sticking with my Bush system.

What's this onkyo? Obviously a Sony would be better as they have their fingers in all the pies.

never like Onkyo's due to the row of selection buttons on the front panel, makes the kit look untidy and as most people will change their connection order or name of connected device just makes them even more useless. One of them is marked up as VCR

For this sort of money you could get a branded name.
