Okay so it's not the fastest drive, but it's still an SSD FOR UNDER £20!
To my mind it'll have to be pretty bad to not justify the expense.

happy hunting, hope it's not a wild goose chase!

Hi,
I think they have a bunch of them not on display that they are trying to shift, hence price reduction. Ask them to check stocks in store before making a wasted journey....

Just to update this thread, I've got it running under Windows 10, replacing a seagate 2TB HDD as the boot disk, and the performance difference is incredible. FYI sequential read is 540MB/s write is ~350MB/s, random disk access is pretty good too - can't remember the numbers, but compared favourably to Samsung 840 evo...worth a punt if you can find one.

I got a bunch of 240GB Samsung 840s about a year ago for about £35 from PCW. I even asked the guy in store to check which stores they were available at and he was happy to tell me.
Great price then, so I'll pop in tomorrow to see if there are any of these.
Good spot.

Cruddy drive (read the reviews all over the web) but I'd still buy one as it's cheap!

solution: buy 2, put them in a RAID 0 array, and get better performance than a single 240GB drive for less than £40.

£3.77 (with voucher) more for the Integral 120GB SSD, got a few, they have been pretty good so far. Does the job, like any tlc SSD they slow (~80-90MB/s) transferring large files (once cache is full), but has a fairly big cache, so not really noticing any slowdowns after you have imaged the system i.e once the system /Windows is setup.

Just wondering if these would still be available after 2-3 weeks cause that is when I would be building

You'll be lucky if any are available after tomorrow lunchtime, if even now.
