I'd go for the UK one anyway as this has a very limited warranty according to MS chat helpline as you have to pay towards the repairs if needed!

That's nonsense, we live in the EU (at present!) and it's bought from an EU country therefore the warranty will be the same as if you bought it from here.

Supposedly the warranty will follow where you originally bought the console and since warranty is non transferable, however on your case, you will still have warranty but this may still have charges of being out of region warranty which is cheaper compared to console that don't have any warranty at all.
