I purchased a similar soundbar made by philips a few weeks ago, 120 watt. I took it back as it was no louder than my tv. Not sure where they get the 120 watts from. put me off buying any soundbar.

Last time I checked Phillips soundbars aren't made by LG. Phillips isn't Phillips anymore and the Audio stuff isn't made by the same company that make TV's under the same brand name.
LG Soundbar and plates quote RMS not PMPO - big difference.

Mmm not quite sure what you consider as bad reviews as I researched thoroughly before a) buying and b) posting.
I read through the reviews on John Lewis, Tesco, Amazon and Currys before a) buying and b) posting....
Reviews on Currys are also generally favourable with a average of 8.4/10 but again there's only 13 reviews...couple of complaints about no optical cable being included.
Reviews seem to be quite reasonable on Tesco (4.6/5.0 for 50 reviews):
I guess it depends on what your expectations are and I doubt you'd get a better soundbar for the same price but happy to be proved wrong...put it this way I figure it has to be better than the 20W Goodmans one I got ages ago from Tesco for £29 :wink:

Paid £79 for this about a week ago! No complaints from me. It's in our bedroom so we're not cranking it up so I can't comment on volume, but it's a fantastic improvemt in audio quality over the LG TV speakers. Very happy.

Amazon only 12 reviews and one is complaining about the state of the item received from a third party seller, 1 about Bluetooth not working and 2 about incompatibility with particular TVs.
