Decent coffee, decent price - and a decent 'Best Before' date of 31 December 2017. NB: These are coffee beans, not ground coffee.

Of course. Each to their own, just saying that if you really appreciate coffee then these beans aren't brilliant

Try not to take it too seriously - after all it's only some coffee beans.

Just a heads up, these are £8 in Costco if anybody has a card and doesn't need as many in one order. Heat for the deal though.

Costco have 2kg for £18, not as good deal but not bad if you don't want 6 kg

these are a Robusta blend, 50-50 I think, you can get 100% Arabica at makro for 7.99 1kg or 75/25 for 5.99. I used to love Lavazza but I realised I probably loved the brand more than the product, wouldnt buy this nowadays, always 100% Arabica for me

Bummer , great deal but just cant do £45 at the moment :disappointed: have some heat tho..
Just noticed they are doing the 1 kg for a tenner , not bad but used Flubit and got it for £9 odd.....
Worth flubiting the 6kg pack should get it down to about £40

they will be fine, i would store them in the freezer once they are opened though

AFAIK these are sealed in nitrogen, I buy these very packs. For me (your experience may be different) this many packs would undoubtedly lead to an increased bitter taste over time as the beans aged. If you don't notice this, drink a lot of coffee, then great buy.

presumably because - they're not ground.

Good deal for those that go heavy on the coffee. I wouldn't want my coffee beans lying around for too long though. This time next year when these are still in date the shops will be selling much fresher beans. The couple of quid saved now isn't worth the possible taste difference of older beans.
I get mine on the Costco deals which do come around more often that you think. I separate in to the right amounts for my bean to cup hopper and then vacuum seal in foil bags in a chamber sealer to be stored in the fridge or freezer until used.

I wouldn't worry too much about these - they're already vacuum packed and past experience tells me they're fine even beyond the BB date of 30 November next year. Depends how much coffee you drink, of course.

This is hot but 6kg is a bit too much for us! Anyone in the Manchester area want to go halves on this, 3 bags each?

If you only need to do 1 or 2 cups at a time, get a hand grinder. I think you can get a decent one for around £10.

Best thing we ever bought. We got it for less than £170 from Amazon around 5-6 months ago.
It's well reviewed, and seems popular with buyers. Bit expensive at the moment, but it frequently drops down to around the £250 mark.

Thanks. In my area, I think it's the water which has always effected the taste, almost more than anything, although I filter the water using a Brita, the plasticky taste still sometimes gets through, it's been tested by the local water authority, I know my pipes are good, but of course, the taste isn't there when they do the test. I'll try to remember burr grinder

I'm a skinflint but I can honestly recommend - get a grinder, preferably a burr grinder but a blade one is pretty cheap. Surprising how much better freshly ground beans are compared to buying ground, especially packs like these

14 May 161#11
Thanks, it's just someone sent me a bag of really expensive coffee beans, no it wasn't the one that is collected from the excrement of some animal, but, call me a skinflint, I've been trying to find a cheap way of grinding it, but no luck so far. So be warned: these are beans!

Fair point. It's a generic description for Lavazza Qualita Rossa coffee, though. I'll change it.
Not to me, I wasn't sure because of this (above)
' Whether brewed by hand, made with an espresso machine or with a coffee filter; the Lavazza Qualità Rossa is suitable for any preparation method. For maximum enjoyment, however, we recommend using the blend as a basis for a cappuccino or latte macchiato.'

Are these actually coffee beans? If they are not and they are ground coffee beans, then it should mention that somewhere, coffee grinding machines used to be common, but if you haven't got one, then you'll have to pay at least £20 for one.
Looking at the description, it seems that they are ground coffee beans, but, suitable for all methods of coffee making, how come? The size of the grind should be different for the different methods

They're beans. Not ground coffee. Not sure why you'd think they weren't beans, but you will need a bean to cup machine or a grinder.

Funnily enough I do too, but we're on our last bag and that promo only comes round once or twice a year.
Ordered. Thanks OP.
In other news, we've had two years from our bean to cup machine now, (De Longhi Magnifica) and it's not missed a beat. Vs the cost of pods it must've paid for itself a time or two over already.
