most of my punctures on my race bikes are the "impact" variety after hitting a pothole ...I've tried all brands of inner tube and they all suffer the same fate if you hit a pothole at speed...so I now use these ..stocked up when 5 for a tenner.

You need to inflate your tyres more. This will stop you getting pinch flats.

I'd recommend a track (floorstanding) pump with pressure gauge - they're available from about £20-25, and allow you to get tyres to a good pressure without arm-ache.

I still get punctures when hitting potholes, tyres are at 110 psi. The faster you go, the more chance of getting one.

Haha. Who brought this guy to the party? Yeah that's true. That's why when the peloton are flying down the cobbles of Paris roubaix they get loads of punctures.... Smh

Thanks for all the advice guys but my tyres are at the correct pressure for my weight...guess it's just my bad luck but tyre brand is also an issue as I had far more flats with the Giant SLRs that were fitted to my bike when new...since changing to Conti Grand Prixs I've had very few flats...of course the Pro bikes on the Paris Roubaix do have frames designed for the cobbles which I believe have some form of suspension.
