Bluetooth just sends whatever audio is coming out of your device to the receiver.
With this, you connect it to by wifi and control the actual Chromecast. So nothing actually plays on the device your are using to control it. If you put Spotify on and turn off your phone, Spotify will keep playing because it is streaming through the Chromecast itself.
This gives you better audio quality (especially if you use the digital output to a good DAC), means your mobile device isn't needed once you have chosen music (no message alerts interrupting music, no hammering the battery streaming and sending via bluetooth simultaneously, no dropped signal if you move too far away etc). Plus you can easily do things like multiroom with these.
Basically it's a mini computer and your mobile device is the controller.
