The Garmin FR 60 gives you the option to train indoors or outdoors. Monitor Your Health

These are seriously old tech. As a runner for a good few years now I wouldn't want the hassle of one of these. By enlarge far better stats are available via your phone or even spending a few pounds more and getting a GPS watch. I agree it is cheap, however so are phones from 2010!

I had a garmin with a foot pod, must say I got rid, use map my ride and find it just as good, and its free, unless you're obsessed by heart rate calories etc just use an app.

No accessories with this watch make it pretty useless on its own. Will require some investment to make it work as there's no GPS sensor.

Answering my own question to a degree here, I don't know much about running watches but did realize that there are a number of accessories you need to buy if you want to enjoy all the features of this particular watch.
I saw the foot pods were quite expensive but I seem to have found an alternative option to Garmin. The Suunto SDM4 Foot Pod is compatible with this device.
I don't know if there is any connection between Garmin and Suunto. Although I wouldn't say its a cheap alternative it at least will extend your options if looking to pick a foot pod up on eBay or elsewhere etc.
Anyway, I thought I'd share what I found should anyone who has just bought the Garmin Forerunner 60 and might now be considering this particular accessory...hope it helps.

You will need a foot pod as well for this to be any use as a running watch (other then stop watch)

Good spot, although 'refurbished' I'm hoping it will be in a relatively decent condition. Anyway, only wanted something basic so this should be fine.
(I did take a look at the accessories on eBay and the foot pods seem pretty expensive - does anyone know if you can use non Garmin option or compatible Chinese version??)

Tempted as I have a spare Garmin strap, but recently bought a Wahoo Bluetooth. Kinda miss having a HRM watch and having to use phone to view HR during a workout.
