My old bin that had a motion sensor kept on opening when the door was a few centimeters away from the bin and I only had 5-8 seconds before it automatically shoot on me which was a bit annoying. But this one seems to be perfect so far as it does not open when the door is right next to the bin and it has a timer to count down to shoot but every time you move over the sensor the time restarts.

Old technology, what is needed is a smartphone app so you can open your bin at home from the office.

is putting your foot on a pedal to open a bin really too much effort for people now?

A timer to countdown to shoot - It must be a "BIN LADEN"

Must be different prices depending on store. The £44.89 shown on site must be the max price.

80l is a must in our house with 2 days
thing I like is there's a separate anchor system around the bin bags so it doesn't slip inside. keeps it clean too.
I think my batteries lasted 3 months and it gets used a fair bit.

I admit I bought one. I spend most of the morning using my Batman voice (Conroy not Bale) and growling 'Open!' before skulking off to the fridge

Yes of course it is! You know touching or any physical interaction is considered a crime nowadays right!? You either need to send a polite tweet to the bin or ask permission then send a text message.

Agree with others they go through batteries quickly..what's next a remote bin you can direct to sofa and back saving moving after eating your tea in front of the TV.

I had one of these and with light use the batteries only lasted a couple of weeks. Don't know if it was faulty but I took it back for a refund.

I have a sensor bin (Dihl brand off Amazon, not this one) and previously had a pedal bin. The sensor bin is in a different league altogether. Especially at this sort of price. You really do need to use one to fully appreciate them. I was sceptical before I got one, believe me. Now wouldn't be without one. Only downside? You get so used to using it that it can be embarrassing when you go to a friends house etc and wave your hand over the bin to open it :man:

I think that it's more likely that you're missing the point of having feet!

Yes...think I must be missing the point. Just seems a waste of money and a pointless application of technology

I have this and its fantastic. Never had issue with batteries, using good alkaline ones and they have lasted 3+ months.
The bin bags from Home Bargains (black with yellow drawstrings) work perfectly. This is a big bin but the shape means rubbish does not get stuck in the same way as a round bin.

Got mine for about six months, all fine just need to use good quality bin bags as they are heavy when full, and use rechargable batteries as they draining quickly.
