To correct your misunderstanding, mine arrived today, and is 100% compatible with my DC59 wand and motorised head.

It came with all accessories needed to clean my car :smiley: Almost took my hand off testing the thing. Suction is incredible!

It's a renamed DC59, not DC58. DC58 doesn't come with the long telescopic tube, or whatever it's called.

The bad thing is that I can't use the £90 (worth £180) voucher at this Tesco point booster event anymore. Because the points will go to my account, and new vouchers will be issued in 3 months. But still, I think tesco points have many uses, so I prefer saving them so I can use them on something that is worth at least twice the vouchers' face values.

No.this is handheld only made for cleaning car etc,the long ones are different modelsit's not just a attchment tube that makes them different.

The motorised head is supplied with it, so it'd be stupid for it not to work (which it does).

The price is a moot point as flipper already stated they might go for this as well. The longer run time and motorised head more than make up for the price (makes a significant difference doing the car, for example). I would hazard a guess it should be better longer term with recharging cycles etc.

Yes spot on, DC58 is just DC59 except it isn't supplied with the wand or cleaner head.

Expect to pay another £100 odd to convert the DC58 (handheld range) to a DC59 (cordless range) with the wand as well as motorised assembly.

The mini motorised tool is powered through the connectors in the wand cuff.

Yes you can buy the wand and cleaner head direclty from dyson. Search for DC59. The wand is £50 And the cleaner head is £60.

Apart from anything else, they always seem to leak around the rubber joints. The uprights are really bad in this respect.

It's also 30% more expensive so shouldn't be considered on equal footing.
I went for the DC34 as it does a good enough job for occasional vacuuming.

Seems an odd thing to buy when the v6 isn't too much more and so much more useful. Unless I'm missing something?

I'm always surprised when reading bad comments about these portable Dysons.

It's a bloody awful machine! The trap door flies open if you don't close it firmly and the whole machine clogs up very easily and then is very difficult to clean, and the rubber seal round the transparent waste container leaks, so dust builds up there and the brush clogs up and requires a full disassembly. The purple filtery thing inside really needs to be removed to be cleaned as that gets dust and fluff under it (and in it!) but you can't remove it without a special tool which isn't supplied.

Might be able to make the tube out of a few empty toilet roll tubes to make this into a DC59.

Whats so special as available at Currys or Pc world at the same price.
