Went in to my local Tesco Extra (Andover) this evening and picked these up!
Excellent price for a really great gift! Did this with my daughter a few years ago and loved watching all the caterpillars grow into butterflies! £10.49 on Amazon.
It seems Tesco have a fair few deals on a variety of toys at the moment (successfully picked up the Disney princess Hama beads earlier too which were marked as £15 but went through at £3.75).
Also in clubcard boost too. Hopefully national so it helps some others out too :)

Butterflies do normally cost a little extra but not normally over £5! Maybe the OP can confirm if he/she can look at the paperwork included?

TomLC is correct, just checked and it is £9.50 for 5 caterpillars, delivery and care sheet. However the kit does include a full exploring sheet to help you find your own caterpillars to use instead.
Seems quite steep but when you're only paying £3.25 for the original kit rather than £10+.

Please do not take caterpillars from the wild "Decline in over three-quarters of UK butterfly species is 'final warning'" says Chris Packham. I spend a lot of money and time just to keep the safe habitat on my land. I have done this for nearly 20 years and still cant tell all the caterpillars apart.
Glanced at the title and read ' Butterfly Would Kill'.
My interest was briefly piqued.
Oh well, hate to think how I'd score in the Rorschach Test, could be a mass murderer lurking inside my head.
