Cheaper to get an NUS card and just pay £40 a year for student Prime, plus get 5% off orders.

Can you still share your membership with others with a student account?

Just so you know, you get 5% up until the discounts obtained reaches £75 then it stops. Every september tou will be issued to a new code(in case your NUS membership ia more than 1year or you started after september)

Isn't that fraud unless you're actually a student?

Its fine getting the NUS card but you still need to be registered at a Higher Educational facility with a College/Uni IP address in order for the registration process to go through unless you can enlighten us to a way around this?

Where do I get a nus card without being a student?

Do you not have to prove your place of study with your nus card?

Great idea. I will quit my job right now, become a student and rejoice in my £19 saving.

You need a .ac.uk email address to get Student Prime, not just an NUS card.

or just register a new amazon account using your current gmail address and suffix it with '+' and any random word and take advantage of free prime trial

actually it's £55 at least not £40.
add to the £40 NUS card fee of £13,course fee £2 and it will be £55.not the mention filling a few forms, waiting for the card and they scanning and emailing the card to amazon..too much hassle for just £4 cheaper.

Yes

Not compared to other online retailers, never assume that you are getting a deal when they say you are. But of course probably just good calue if you use video on demand.

You might become minster one day if your a prime :stuck_out_tongue:

Many items cheaper of usually stuff we don't need? Do you still need to spend min £20 for next day delivery?
Biggunspaul
13 May 161#8
Yes I believe it is £20 min spend for non prime member to get free 3-5 day delivery, prime members get one day delivery on most items sold by Amazon or fulfilled by Amazon.

Nice, so tempted to join now. I wonder if I can pay with from my Amazon Gift Card balance. If can that means it's even cheaper for me =)

not unless they have changed since November. I had £60 in gift cards but they wouldn't let me pay for a prime membership with them so I ended up paying for something I thought wasnt going to cost me anything.

Is it easy enough to cancel in the first year ? I think I read of a fee horror stories of folk having issues trying to cancel before they lost another £79
Biggunspaul to DonkeyKonk
13 May 1615#12
Can't say I've had any problems with canceling,in fact my Mrs did the 30 day trial and forgot to cancel, she got onto Amazon live chat a few days after they took the payment and explained she forgot to cancel, they said it wasn't a problem and gave her a full refund.

I did it for my Mum in law because she is a dong and went over her free trial period. Changed it to month by month then cancelled. Got an immediate full refund on both even though she had gone over. All online with no contact needed. I wouldn't believe horror stories about Amazon, just contact them, they will bend over backwards for you. I would not say the same about many other companies, I am in dispute 3 at the moment, 1 has just been resolved but 2 are pending. I ain't no pushover and have been waiting for this deal to come up, signed up and have already saved money by cancelling my pending order on another account lol
