All colours available at this price on Deal of the Day.
For prime members its £11.09 as is, non-prime members you must spend over £20 or pay postage.
I bought my dad one of these a few weeks ago and was really impressed for £15.
For £11.09 it is incredible.I have a sansa clip, and a semi expensive Sony mp3 player...bought the sansa for size and lightness (for gym etc), sony for 50 hours battery life and sound quality (long journeys etc). This ticks both boxes for my requirements. Yes build quality will not be as good but then its silly cheap!

Wow, thanks, I didn't have any opinions of my own, lol. Personally I don't want to ruin my battery on my phone for the sake of carrying a few grams of MP3 player, which frankly is almost certainly going to have better sound quality. Oh and did I mention an awful lot of phones don't even have a memory socket, like mine, so I'm not going to fill up the internal memory with MP3s just to save a tiny amount of weight.
My phone happily replaces a snap and shoot camera, because the camera is bulky an weighs a tonne, but there's little need to run the battery down listening to music, when for a few quid and 32g of weight I can avoid it. I personally use a Sansa Clip, which is excellent, but would never go back to using the phone.

I like to go out dog walking without my phone, hence I have a sansa clip for that reason, for the walk into work I use my xperia phone. I also have a camera I use for days out with my kids, as it has a proper zoom. There are many of us who like to have a good phone for multifunction use, however separate products to do individual uses.

Why is this hot? ???. Has no one heard of a smartphone & memory card. What next compact cameras. technology is supposed to be moving us forward not backwards. My music's on my smartphone may not be as good sound quality but it's about portability . I don't want to cart around several devices in my pocket. cold for me

When they release a smartphone that is as compact as this, with a 70 hour battery life, 30x optical zoom, high quality CCD, and somehow still have a 5.5 inch screen, I'll agree with you.

More importantly, it supports OGG which is the best format, both for being free (as in financially and as in freedom - MP3 is NOT) and for quality to filesize ratio - If you have two files at the same bitrate, one in MP3, one in OGG, the OGG will be smaller.
Most manufacturers don't bother supporting OGG so this is good. I'm guessing there's no Rockbox support for this though so you'd be stuck with the manufacturer's OS.

Just do a search on Amazon for pre-order. Find a game or something that is taking orders but available yet. Add it to the basket to take you over £20. Wait until later when the mp3 is dispatched then cancel the preordered item. You don't get charged for the preordered item until dispatched so very easy to do.

Smartphones have crappy battery lives for one, so you could easily find yourself running out of juice and therefore suddenly making the smart phone completely dumb.

That's on the internal storage i have a 32 gb card in mine with 100s of songs and its working fine
wouldn't like to say how many songs you could have on a 32gb card a lot more that 4000 more like 15000-20000 and if you put a 64gb card in it even more songs.

I'd rather carry around 4 different devices that can do their specific job decently (Music player, camera, phone, portable games console) than have one device (a phone) which does 3 things poorly. There isn't a single game I've played on iOS or Android that was better than a 3DS/Vita game, my phone doesn't sound anywhere near as good as my old iPod which was modified to play lossless FLAC and no camera I've seen on any phone has the shutter speed or low light capabilities or even zoom power with an appropriate lens of even a budget £200 DSLR.

Deeply ordinary sound using good quality headphones (the supplied ones are terrible and not worth bothering with). Doesn't go as loud as some in this thread have suggested. Navigation is horrible and deeply uninituitive. Gave up struggling with it. Sent it back.
Magister
23 May 161#63
Navigation is simple, the sound is great and the volume is more than sufficient to accommodate the noise in a large pub, or a bus. For just over £11, this was a steal. I can only hope that you never try to operate any electronic device that REALLY is complicated.

It appears that there are lots of sellers on Amazon Marketplace that are not based in the UK who are evading tax if the following article is anything to go by. Thus I wouldn't expect good customer service from these sellers. In fact I wouldn't expect customer service at all really.
hence why this (fulfilled by Amazon) is better than buying directly from those sellers, and better than ebay, because if there is a problem you deal with Amazon direct. Amazon are in my
experience, among the best company I've dealt with when it comes to problems, up there with John Lewis etc.

Hmmmmm........I've seen one of these - they dish them out for a pound or so to Amazon reviewers. It really isn't worth a lot more than that, and if you check out the reviews on http://www.fakespot.com you get this:
Tread lightly, this product may contain a major number of inauthentic or low quality reviews!

CelicaGT-Four
29 May 16#67
It is worth more than £1 to me, or I wouldn't own two! Guess there is no pleasing some people. I'm not going to lose any sleep over a 3rd party website questioning the accuracy of Amazon reviews, when I don't know how accurate THAT website is. I'm all about managed expectations. I'm going on one I own, not one I've 'seen' and for what it cost me it does a great job and chances are I will probably drop it in a puddle or lose it before / if it ever breaks and I probably will think it has paid for itself by that time anyway. It was £11 at the end of the day I've spent more on a round of drinks and had less fun for the money before now
CelicaGT-Four
29 May 16#68
oh and 'Grade F ; 100% low quality reviews' ... that sounds 97.3% made up to me lol
Newbold
29 May 16#69
Believe me, it's not the Fakespot report that's made up. It's the reviews. Fakespot simply analyses them for authenticity.
CelicaGT-Four
29 May 16#70
Doesn't analyse them very accurately in my opinion; I've just tested it on a digital music album for Ry X called "Dawn". It came out with 25% low quality reviews. No one would fake review an mp3 album would they?! Plus it only had 8 reviews and one of the 8 reviews is mine lol. If you read the reviews, this reckons two of the 8 are 'low quality' but they clearly are all genuine. Nonsense site. I'm not going to bother looking in to what algorithms they have used for their 'analysis' but I'm guessing they arent very scientific! Not having a personal dig at you for questioning the reviews of the mp3 player by the way, I just have a different perspective on expectations I guess.
