You shouldn't use ratchets for heavy torque - just the loosening and tightening. Nip up or break with spanner end.

till the ratchets fail!!! don't take too much leverage to let go!! speak from buying them in the past. May have been unlucky. but you get what you pay for.

You are meant to use the open end to tighten or un tighten and the ratchet to put the nut on ir take it off. That's why yours have failed.
