Just be aware that if you buy 3 expensive plants for say £15 each and 3 much cheaper plants for £3 each it will only take 2 lots of £3 off so £6 instead of £18 so watch out for that, so if you are buying quite a few plants varying in price group them together into price bands and get them to put through the till in separate batches. I just got overcharged by nearly £30 before I made them refund the whole lot and put through in separate batches.

To be fair, you weren't overcharged. You've even written in the deal 'cheapest free' and that's exactly what they gave you. It isn't the norm for stores to discount items in the way that will save the customer most money, although I know a few do it (Tesco?).
I always ask people to put products through as separate transactions if the prices vary and it's a 342 offer. Atleast they did it for you in the end though and maybe you'll save some other people having to go through the same palava.

I had been after two baskets of sweet peas growing up wicker trellis . They were priced at £12 each or two for £20 . I couldn't justify paying that . Got there today and they were reduced to £6 each . With 3 for 2 I ended getting three for £12 . I was most happy and my garden will look much nicer as a result . I live in a brand new house on a half finished development . Everything is so bland . My mission is to add some colour to the place

This year I'm finding homebase to be cheaper than B&Q must be Bunnings making it more competitive - plants have been made cheaper and better choice too.

When I was there this afternoon they put some plants through as two separate transactions and sent a lady back to get another plant in order to maximise the discount

Your store was obviously more customer focused. The store I used wasn't bothered at all that I felt I was overcharged. I bought over 30 plants so they could have mentioned it before they scanned all of them. Let's hope they change their attitude when more people start complaining ;-).

I've been waiting for 15% off everything in homebase...They didn't do anything for the bank holiday

You live on a building site and you're complaining about how it looks?

You were lucky - they had signs in our store saying reduced plants were not included in the 342 offer. :disappointed:
