The free delivery includes chucking the package into your garden but they didn't check to see I have a pond, customer services haven't even came back to apologise.

My post was about making yourself aware of possible side effects (some of which are quite unusual) - the info is easily accessible online (Google for example). I didn't mention clinical trials - that was a different contributor. Children over 12 can use these tablets. Younger children can take branded products that also contain this med.

Some of the comments made in here are so laughable!
The person making this "cold" because it "wasn't cetirizine" despite several posts from members linking the cetirizine version!
Then the scaremongers came in haha... do some proper research yourself before posting random "facts".

At the end of the day, we are individuals and the active ingredient will work differently on everyone.
As someone who always took cetirizine when the symptoms kicked in, I discovered it didn't work very well for me. I tried the Loratadine and it did. Neither are better OR worse than each other, its just an "each to their own" scenario.

My years supply just arrived, within 48 hours of ordering.
At just around £0.02 per tablet, with free delivery... this was a VERY hot deal.

Triludan was always the best for me until they withdrew it. Nothing really ever came close. Unless anyone knows of something just as good?

Triludan was "voluntarily withdrawn" by Marion Merrel Dow just before it became generic and they replaced with fexofenadine, which only had 18 months patent life left (they knew fexofenadine was the active metabolite of Triludan). Thus, the licensing of my friend's patent which gave them an extra 18 years product life and many billions of dollars.

Before you do, you might want to check this NHS article explaining the fairly misleading reporting of this study by the media.

That wasn't what the study said though. It was almost entirely a media scare story. The NHS explains the reality behind the headlines.

They've stopped the free delivery code working it seems (probably all us lot flooding orders in!). So I've expired it but can someone else do the same please? - needs more than one 'expire' to work.

A google search just seems to bring up loads of studies on children. Can you provide a link to the clinical trials that you claim will give me nightmares? Since children don't tend to order hay fever pills online your comment is looking rather pointless with regard to this offer.

Spent around £6 on 14 Pyriton tablets yesterday. That's a bitter pill to swallow *cue exit music*

There is also a third, Chlorphenamine (Piriton) which is more than 1 a day. Personally it knocks me right out.

Yeah Sanofi knocked it out as Telfast , Allegra and Fexofenadine ... Hence generics being the same . Solpadeine and Ultramol being the same from same company , until sanofi sold off the OTC to smithklein

I tried local honey for my hayfever and its done the trick. I take a spoon a and hardly experience any symptom. Worth a try

Cold not Cetirizine :smiley: Loratadine doesn't work at all for me.

I'm just going on what works best for me. Cetirizine made me a bit drowsy / lethargic but it's down to each person's physiology as to which suits them best I think

Cetirizine are a non-drowsy anti-histamine so you shouldnt experience those side effects

An old friend of mine had a patent for fexofenadine which was licensed to Sanofi-Aventis for 5% sales royalty, which was quite nice, as sales were about $2bn/year. It's a lot less now due to generics, but he is still earning about $20m/year though the patent will expire soon.

As for acravastine, the chap who first made that spent more time repairing his bike than working in the lab.

amazing how many people buy the branded stuff when the generic is made in the same place by the same people and is normally a lot cheaper .16p paracetamol are the same as £2.16 p paracetamol don't waste your dosh .

Cheaper to get them on prescription but I tried them initially via the online Lloyd's pharmacy service. They are certainly more expensive than the deals you see on here but you can't put a price on the relief they give me.

For what it's worth, Fexofenadine works for me. Someone on here recommended them to me, completely improved my summers so thank you. Tried everything else to no avail.

Great value, I try to take them every other day during Hayfever season as I heard that using them too regularly can make the effect lessen, how true that is I don't know though.

They are 2 different types of hay-fever tablets any know which is better

and it's the other way round for me. So yes, it completely depends on your physiology.

Does anyone know how this price compares to Home Bargains as I know that they sell cheap Loratadine and Cetirizine tablets too.....although not sure on the pack sizes?!

Im sure most people know, but antihistamines aren't just for hay fever, they are good for a lot of allergies, but a great use, is when your on holiday if you suffer with prickly heat these are a lifesaver!
