I wouldn't buy them as I think free range eggs are the way to go, but for someone on a very tight budget these are fine and are well priced.

In no way did I defend anything other than those out there who are unable to afford "luxury" items such as free range, free range is always the better option but like I said, there are people who cannot afford to pay that bit extra, there are people who walk to all different stores so they can save their pennies. there are places where there is an Iceland next to an ASDA or a Tesco.

People who can only afford value priced items shouldnt be scorned because of their situation, heck, even people out working full time still cannot afford to go completely Free Range.

I'm actually very grateful for that deal. Tomorrow I'll be doing my big shop and was going to stop by Aldi to grab a couple of things, Iceland is next door to it and I never go in there, now I'll be popping in to grab 36 free range eggs for £3, so some people do like little deals like that, especially when you can pop in and out in a couple of minutes.

i just want to point out that "battery farming" as such was banned a while ago. that said, free range is totally worth the extra over caged in my mind.

These battery eggs should be banned.

Anyone who buys these is directly promoting and approving of animal cruelty.

Sorry but every little helps. I actually go out of my way to buy my eggs at Lidl because it saves me 20 pence off the usual price of £1 for 10. The adage "take care of the pennies and the pounds will care for themselves" is true. How about if you think the deal is pointless you don't have to view it, you don't have to comment or even vote on the deal. That seems like a much fairer solution eh?

You never know what a persons situation is buddy, could be a single mum or single dad needs to count the coppers in order to make do :smiley:

And get 2 fewer eggs .. these for 7.5p each or the large free range for 8.33p each .. free range wins hands down in my opinion.

Given the recent revelations about how "free range" is interpreted by many farmers there may be little extra benefit to the hens.
