We play 'house rules' Uno using some suggestions buried in the instructions:

1. Laying a 'zero' means everybody passes their hand to the next player in the direction of play.
2. Laying a '7' means you swap your hand with a player of your choice - tho be sure to say 'uno' if you swap with a player holding just one card.

*Be super careful doing either of the above if it is your last card though, as you must complete the move, which will inevitably end up with you holding some cards and another player going out!

3. 'Jump in' - Place (with speed!) an exact matching card even when it's not your go! The only rule we developed around this is that if you hold two identical cards in your hand, is that you cannot put them down simultaneously, but one after the other as quick as you can.

Expect high spirits and lots of exclamation if you start introducing these rules. Takes the game to a whole new level though! We usually leave jump-in till the last few rounds.
