I've had a couple of these for a while now and they haven't let me down (yet) [touch wood]. Yes, they're too slow for daily writing use, but they're ideal to stick videos on for the back of the telly/whatever media box, especially at this price. I'm going to get a couple, thanks for the tip.

I also bought one a few years ago. Still fine, I use mine for watching latest Banshee and The Walking Dead episodes through me blu ray player!

They have the 16gb ones at £2.99, for boots and installs you might be cheaper getting a few of these instead.

It's only USB 2.0, so they are probably being shifted cheaply as USB 3.0 becomes the default standard.
