The Division takes place in New York 3 weeks after a lethal virus, released on Black Friday, swept through the city. One by one, basic services have failed. Society has collapsed into chaos. The President invokes Presidential Directive 51, and The Division, a top-secret unit of self-supporting tactical agents, is activated. Leading seemingly ordinary lives among us, Division agents are trained to operate independently of command in this type of emergency situation. When the lights go out, their mission begins.

I found it very yawnsome myself, not a lot of variety in enemies, weapons, missions etc. Though it does look impressive.

Can't wait for the day they introduce cross console play (as Microsoft have opened up to do). I have both consoles but most of my mates play on PS4, would be nice to take advantage of the games that appear cheaper on one console and still be able to play with friends on another.

Sadly lacking in end game content.
Dark zone grind (yawn) or 3 daily missions.
I'd wait to see if the "expansion" does anything to fix the lack of longevity.

does this have a single player campaign or is it another MP only game?

There is a single player story mode, effectively all the missions and side missions in the PvE area, where you find out about the various factions, and what happened to the first wave of Division agents. If you completely storm through you can complete the bare bones in about 15 hours - it took me about 75 hours just wandering and completing all the sub missions - some of which are roughly the same (water supply missions), and some are marginally different (virus research missions)
The MP is in the Dark Zone, where you get higher tier loot/rewards, and PvP. You can completely avoid this, unless you are doing achievements/rewards, and even then you can just run in about 25M, turn around and get out again.

You can play all the missions on your own or team up with 3 others, either friends or randoms. I love the game, so addictive!

And why would Sony agree to that? there's no need for them already being the market leaders by a long way this console cycle.
List of additions/updates, the new incursions sounds painful! good squad required.
As for yawnsome/grind comments, as always each to their own, any game eventually becomes yawnsome it's down to individual tastes really. I'm enjoying putting the time in to it.
Plus I have Quantum Break and Dirt Rally to switch between! Dirt Rally highly recommended

Well they have said that they are open to the idea (not specifically with Microsoft). I am sure there are benefits to Sony to do this too, personally I think it would help drive sales of multiplayer focused games as it would take away that concern about which console the majority of your mates will be playing on, it will also help increase longevity on these types of games as you are have potentially more people to play against long term.
