Was in Savers Plymouth and saw this for 49p yes its 10p more than Aldi but if you want a brand i suppose it maybe worth 10p - personally I dont. Checked their website and not in there but was in store and loads of them.

Can't recall what the going rate is for a bag of sugar these days. Not saying we don't buy it but, me personally, I haven't purchased a bag of it in easily 4 years.
Sugar likely gets a bad rap these days. I cut sugar out for health reasons but I'm undoubtably kidding myself as I still drink beer, wine and cider :stuck_out_tongue:
Anyway I digress ....heat from me as this sounds like a deal for those that buy it

A slight exaggeration.
Pretty sure about tablespoon of caffeine will kill you whilst you'd probably need at least 2kg of sugar.

45p in B&M. I prefer Tate and Lyle as it is from cane. A lot of the cheaper sugars are beet.

Cane or beet makes absolutely no difference. It's all just sugar when it's been refined. 39p for sugar in Aldi - exactly the same as all other refined white granulated sugar.

sugar is sugar whatever the brand, the cheaper the better

There are many different types of sugar. They are not all the same. I contend that cane is sweeter than beet.

There are indeed many types of sugar, but standard refined white granulated sugar (the one in this thread) is exactly the same, whether it's made from cane or beet. It's chemically identical - there is no difference.
Is there a difference between sugar derived from sugar beets or sugar cane?
The sugar is the same no matter its original plant source or growing practice. Sugar – whether from sugar beets or sugar cane, or from sugar crops grown using conventional, biotech, or organic methods – is pure and natural and has the same nutritional value, composition and wholesomeness.
