Reviews seem to indicate these have poor sound and they are a lower quality than expected from Sennheiser. Hope this isn't a trend with the brand. I have a few pairs of Sennheiser headphones all sound great although I did sell on one pair previously as the bass was too high for my tastes.

Looking at the technical data of these from the sennheiser website, they don;t seem to be fo a great quality in term s of frequecy response. I'm no technogeek, but it's a bit limited :-

Well 14Hz to 20,000Hz covers the range that most 'normal' people can hear so your point is?

Well I have trawled google for reviews and most reviews seem positive for these - maybe again an audiophile reviewer expecting 'better' sound (in his humble opinion) for them. Still at this price it is worth taking a punt - you might actually like the 'pure sound' they are supposed to have.

Audiophile is BS, just have to be sensible, once you've paid so much money out the law of diminishing returns comes in to heavy effect.

Have this for two months now, it's a good headset but not a great one. I expected Sennheiser product to be great. The sound is "pure" but the bass is nowhere as advertised.

I have now had time to test these Sennheiser HD335s headphones. Firstly, lets point out that these are a bargain for £25. I have various sets of headphones and can honestly say they are probably the best I've heard at this price point. Don't get me wrong, they are not as luxurious in sound as a pair of Sennheiser 280 Pro headphones which I generally use for pro work, but that's nearly four times the cost of these HD335s. Are the HD335s four times less in quality? - no, of course not, they are a good sounding headset for the price. Not as rich in bass as they probably state, but they are a nice clear sound. Perfect for most people and enough bass when watching TV or listening to music. The only down points are the short cable length, the plastic feel, the fact that you can't fold them up and the sound level is a bit quieter than more expensive headsets with more powerful drives. Okay, that last point was probably too much to expect at this price point. I would have felt ripped off if I had spent £40-£50 on these (half the rrp cost), but at £25 they are a good buy in my opinion!
