This isn't the fastest SSD and it's not SUCH a good price for a 512GB (though it's "ok" compared to recent prices). But for an M.2 I think this is pretty decent.
Was looking for a M.2 drive for the dell 15-7559 thread, spotted this and I reckon that's a pretty good price for one of this type.
It's a SATA interface M.2 (there's PCIe available as well, this one is only SATA though).

AFAIK, you can't. This isn't a 2.5" laptop drive but rather a bare M.2 slot card. More like memory DIMM/SoDIMM etc.

Basically, you don't.
You can put it in a external USB case but you'd get no real advantage over a decent HDD.

Not only that, SSDs don't make as much difference on consoles as you'd think. See all the Digital Foundry videos where they're barely any faster than a hybrid disk. There's other limiting factors in the current generation consoles, since they're so underpowered.

Good for people who only have this slot free as an upgrade. For a desktop machine with PCIe Gen 3 slot then you'd never entertain using this drive as you'd I'd imagine want to take advantage of the speed that slot gives you.

Good price for a 512GB M.2.
I've got an ASUS UX305CA which uses this type of SSD, I upgraded to the Samsung EVO 500gb one, and to be honest would still do so, it's only £16 more through Amazon, and they're a quite a bit faster.

I really doubt you would be able to notice the speed difference and doubt your quite a bit faster statement...
There is very little real life difference between decent SATA ssd.

U.2 should in the long term replace m.2 on the desktop ... M.2 should have never have been used on desktop mobos :neutral_face:

I got this for an external usb 3.0 enclosure (Startech). it works brilliantly and is really small. if anyone is curious I will upload the benchmarks for it over usb later.

This is a SATA M.2 drive, not an NVME one, so the speeds are quite lower than other M.2 drives. Not that the majority of people would notice a couple of seconds though to be honest!
