So, the usual question: what is the write speed and does it get hot in use?

If you already know the answer, why are you asking the "usual" question again???

Andy is correct. Very quick but often very hot is my experience with the 32gb version. Probably better to go for something else honestly.

The test takes a lot of time. I noticed the write speed took a huge drop, so I decided to remove it and plug it in again. Apparently the drive got so hot, the temperature affected performance, and in this case it wasn't just warm, it was HOT !!

I've heard that the Samsung equivalent doesn't get hot at all so, although probs more expensive, may be better for continuous use?!

I meant the usual question for any USB 3,0 memory stick deal posted on here. I did not know the answer for this model, hence why I asked...

they do get hot, but I wonder if other usb drives get just as hot, but because they are incased in plastic/rubber you just don't notice it as much.

I don't think so. I have a few other USB 3 drives that get warm but these could give you a mild burn. It seems to be a flaw of these drives rather than the heat being covered up or radiated.
Well, if the heat is that bad, I wonder what percentage of them will still be working in 3 years time ?
No, I'm not prepared to try it.

Samsung is far better choice. Yes is bit slower, but i rather wait 2 more seconds then lose all information.

Sorry, I just had to comment on all this negative groupthink going on here. These sticks are fine. Had a couple of them for months, used hundreds of times for copying large video files and travelling. No problems whatsoever. Not sure why everyone is freaking about "the heat" either- I have 5 year old Kingston USB sticks that get equally as "hot" as these with no adverse effects. Too much hyperbole here. Thanks for the tip OP, I'm going to buy a couple more. As for worrying about what will happen in 3 yrs? It's £7.89! And "lose all information"? backup, don't ever rely on any USB stick. As I say - negative groupthink!

Speed (64GB version, the 32GB may be marginally slower) http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R19D5RBBOAT5PY/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm
"Insanely hot" (64GB, but same for my 32GB) http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R3GF7ZF5J0RWZB/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm
