Was £59.99 then £49.99 & now £39.99, excellent reviews across the net. I bought one of these last year when it was previously on offer & it does a great job (obviously the person wielding it has to be fairly good too, I like to think I am, at my age my leg hair is akin to fast growing pampas grass & after a long winter under cover I have had plenty of practice the last few years).

Not the qualcast most will remember, Argos licence the name and make the products themselves. Not saying a bad product just a good thing to know.

Homebase isn't part of the group anymore, homebase was sold to Bunnings an Aussie company. Homebase as a brand will be gone in the next 5 years or so and will change over to a more competitive retailer as Bunnings. Argos and Habitat brands are in the process of being bought by Sainsbury's and the sale will be complete by the end of quarter three of 2016.

I bought a 36v qualcast hedge trimmer last year and have been very impressed with it. Pity the 36v line trimmer isn't on offer but this is a great price for the 18v line trimmer if it is any good (i had an 18v bosch hedge trimmer and it was awful but that was nicad silly mistake)
Nice to know argos own the brand. I know homebase is part of their group too.
Good deal op.

I always remember the "string" on these breaking every couple of minutes. Regardless of the brand.
Hot for price but I really dont want to spend every 2 minutes switching it off & extending the string

Had one for 2 years. It's great. Last me around 25 mins, easy to hold with its adjustable handle. Still on the first spool of line with very few breakages. Really like the edge trimming function too.

Been after a replacement for my old one, which was woeful. Good find OP - nice to have one with auto-feed as well so no need to manually unwind for any breakages !

Cheers OP. Im sick of having to daisy chain 3 extensions to get to the bottom of my garden with the strimmer! Ordered one of these.. You get an extra £1 off if you pay up front as well. so £38.99

Bought one last year. Can thoroughly recommend for general tidying up. I've got a Honda 4 Stroke too, smugjojo - but that's overkill for small jobs.

Bought one last year, used almost exclusively as an edging tool and very pleased with it. Anxious to see what the battery life is like and whether replacements will then be available. I guess at this price I could throw out and buy again when it fails but I hate such waste.
