parasols are useless though as they never give 100% shade (everytime the buggy turns a corner, angle of the sunlight changes) much beeter to invest in an extended duck-beak style sunshade ('rayshade' type thingies)

Much better option ^
with parasols they dont give a lot of shade at all as everytime the buggy turns a corner the angle of the sunlight changes. Plus, they are a faff to re-adjust and end up falling to the side most days. These duck-bill shaped shades are way better (rayshade, i think this one is called)

I've been looking into parasols/shades etc and pretty much concluded what you have said. My only concern is I won't really be able to see my baby unless I crouch down and I like to keep in her eyeline when we're out and about, also she won't see much of the world, when I want to encourage her to look around and take everything in. Are my concerns justified or should I just get one?
