The i7 model definitely feels like the better value machine here, with the i7 and bump in GPU power (If you need/want that) Both look good though, depending on budget. Specs other than CPU & GPU are the same, popped them in comment one for easy comparison.

do you know how long the voucher is valid for and can the HD be easily upgraded, 128gb isn't enough for me

Should end on the 2nd May, Most of the time the HDDs are easily upgradable to be honest. Just bought a a USB 3.0 to Sata connector for a few quid to make the data migration quick and easy too. I'm sure there will be some bits covering the subject on the 500s online though, although obviously you'll want to make sure it won't mess with your warranty/guarantee (i'm sure you're aware anyway)

It is. But Lenovo likes to con its customers.

Hot for the lower specced machine.
For the higher specced - A 920m is taking the **** and is literally just banged in there so they can stamp "dedicated graphics card" all over marketing material.

Thanks for this tip. I am not so updated with hardware specs and would have been taken in by this "dedicated graphics" bit.
Any recommendations for what I should look for in a graphic cards to do 4k video editing? Budget is around £650 to £800 max

To be fair the i5 model has intel hd 520 which is on par with the 820m, the 920m used in the i7 model is a fair bit better (about the level of the intel 530 so still not great but better), however it isn't worth the extra they are charging.

Really good machine. There is only one thing I'm reluctant to buy and it is the battery life. For portable machines it should be something crucial. Unfortunately it is poor in this case.

But it's a powerful processor. You need to compromise somewhere.
Nice to see it's got an anti-glare screen. Sick of the shiny ones. Doesn't have a lighted keyboard though.

Still nothing to beat the Dell Inspiron 15-7559 at the moment. "Open box" type offers on amazon for not much more and it's a vastly better laptop.

Well except that the Dell would be 15 inch, and where would you get it for £566?

The 15-7559 has a full i7-6700HQ, 960M (4GB) and 8GB ram. It's missing an SSD but it's a trivial addition.

Not sure why you're telling me this - I was only commenting on the battery life.

Just ordered the cheaper version - actually roughly what I was looking for and a good price. ONLY PROBLEM is that it's red, but it can be overlooked
