Wonder if a lot of the heat is down to people thinking it's the full HD 2GB tablet.

Ok getting weary folks "Refurbished" usually looked at by a £7.50 PH Screener not an engineer ,,,,,,,,,appears to work great, clean it new batteries in remote and box it up again either original box or plain brown. Ex display will have clocked up more than 7500 hours ex customer may be marked full of dust and gunk and any age. There is no Service organisation in this country that can work to Manuafacturers Standards.take a look at the boards in the back of the sets . UK engineer with a soldering iron dont kid yourselves. Engineers if they do get to look at one are merely to confirm faults to allow the company to get back to manuafacturer for full or partial credit. Engineers time is costly and they are not trained enough. If its second hand which it is forget the term refurbished its being sold because they cannot get money back from the supplier because it is a bought out guarantee, out of warranty or simply their cock up or unauthorised refund/exchange. Ask them to put Service mode on the screen that will tell you exactly how many hours it has been used unless it says zero hours and that will tell you that they have a code to reset it. Service mode can be accessed through any handset for any model within two minutes. Wait until you hear the reasons they will give why they cannot go into service modes. Google or youtube most service mode set ups. If its refurb its second hand and should be minimum 50% off or tell them to keep it.

Thanks ordered. Daughter had the newer version and loves it. This serves fine for the " needs"of the younger one.

I bought two of these new for I think £99 at Christmas for my boys. They really are much better than the spec would suggest. The only thing that is holding me back from buying one as the saving over a new one is not that great and I already have a 7" Fire Tablet and an 8" Hudl 2 which is very good but my ancient eyes are not what they used to be so maybe that extra couple of inches is what I need (ooh er missus).

Bought one of these a few weeks ago for £79.99 and more than happy with it. People worry too much what 'spec' looks like on paper. In reality, this is an excellent tablet for the money. Decent display, excellent sound and fast enough for everyday use. Battery life if also very good. This is a good tablet with a 10.1 inch screen, at a much cheaper price than a lot of inferior budget 7 inch tablets. What do people want for £72??

The v500 is an old tablet now so you can only pick them up 2nd hand. They come with 4.4.2 which is OK, but for real performance, rooting and putting on Cyanagenmod 13 (6.0.1) makes a huge difference. Don't even think about the other LG tablets as they are all low spec.

The specs aren't great but if you need a screen so big, there isn't much choice out there. Good price. Not Hot or Cold for me. I wouldn't swap my LG v500 8.3" with double the specs and same cost for this.
Its amazing that one of the big names hasn't put out a 10" with 1080p display, SD800, 2GB Ram, SD Card slot and running Android 6 for around £150 or lower. Someone could make a killing.

Please can you advise where the LG v500 is available from at the same cost as this?

The Lenovo is a good tablet with ok spec. You wont go wrong if you buy it. Big screens are great for the kids but not very portable. Some good reviews too so check them out before you buy. Heat added
Steer well clear of the Bush My Tablet as suggested in the thread. The CNet review says it all.......The Bad. Appalling display; Poor build quality; Sluggish performance; Some annoying software quirks;.

Almost 2 years old. Serious question? Wouldn't the Bush MyTablet 10 be a better choice as it has almost identical specs and a later CPU?
