Good find OP. Heat added.
You know even the names Lego always takes me back to my childhood when we lived 6 kids to a bed inside an old washing machine oft' side of the M25 and dad would go out to work when it were dark and come home and connect the machine to the main line of a nearby electricity pylon and spin all us kids at 1200 rpm until we were dead then he'd make us collect sticks to sell round't doors for beer tokens for him. Ahhhh...them were the days....

Thank you for validating my pain. I still get vertigo and have a phobia of laundrettes.

Can't imagine you had much luck selling sticks to the living if you were dead

Lego have somehow managed to hike their prices to such an astronomical point over the years, that £6 for a single sheet of plastic somehow seems like a bargain. Lego pricing and profit margins must far exceed the majority of companies.
Just had a look, it's one of the questions asked by customers on Amazon, 2 people have replied and both said its not compatible

They do baseplates in Wilkinsons for £3, not Lego but pretty much identical, may be a tiny bit thicker
Only difference is they are rectangular not square, actually work out better for standing minifigures on as they fit more easily on a shelf
