Yes and no. Yes the baco dispenser may be cheaper, if you ignore the fact that the dispenser itself is poor quality and needs replacing every 1 to 5 refills depending on how substandard the dispenser you receive happens to be.
No, the baco refills are not cheaper. When refilling, you pay £5 for 150m @ Lakeland. I also feel the lakeland cling film is amongst the best I've used, too.
Threw out my third faulty baco dispenser, replaced it with this, and haven't looked back. Baco customer service very poor too.

This is a great buy, you can use pound shop cling film and foil.
I've had one for 9 months and works great. Also has screws to fix on your wall or just sit on the side. I have bought another 2, one for my mum as she took my other one last time I bought 2.

I have one from Lakeland, bought in the sale. They are pretty good, though a bit fiddly to use. I prefer it because I was always catching my hand on the sharp metal teeth of the clingfilm box. Probably wouldn't pay full price, but good value at this price.

Does anyone know if you can use other shop brands clingfilm in this?

You could but I think it depends on the size of the cardboard tube in the middle as there is a screw in cap that needs to fit it

I took my Lakeland dispenser back as it required a particular size. The Morrison's and Lidl ones did not fit and were to wide.
Travelling to Lakeland was a lot more difficult and would require me to pay parking charges so didn't make sense to keep it in the end.
