Just called homebase, did not have to wait on the phone, asked the guy to check my order, the guy said yes the order has gone through and your delivery is 17th May. The chap said we can bring it forward to 3rd May as people have cancelled.

Just took delivery of two Benwick armchairs (sadly had to order slightly different colours). A bargain at £109 for both. Got a couple more orders (sofas and foot stall) hopefully arriving in June/July but I don't know whether to phone them to check if they actually have the stock.

I have just rang HB again! lol and the lass confirmed my order and delivery date for next Tues. She said if you have a date booked in the system then your order is OK. Money pending in bank just now as it's a bank holiday I guess. If it all goes wrong then I will get a call from HB but she is 99.999999% sure my 2 sofas are mine. Really need to be 100% about this as hubby wants to cut old sofas...

That's what I was told on Saturday afternoon - if they are able to book a delivery slot, the order is confirmed. I did have one order appear on my Order History and monies pending from my account - but no order confirmation email like the others. That one was cancelled.

Wonder if there has been a lot of cancellations (?). Homebase answered right away (unlike Saturday's chaos)! and boyf was able to change a 26th June delivery slot to a more reasonable "next Wednesday", assume they mean the 11th.

So I've just contacted homebase on twitter and strangely they have cancelled the order of the drawers and none left in stock but kept the delivery of the 2 arm chairs sofas which were free as they both came up to £100 but had £100 automatically taken off so only paid £8.95. I can't really complain. If anybody is unsure - just send them a message on twitter.

I've got to wait till 16th of June for delivery but that's okay.
louiselouise
2 May 16 #23
That's strange! Maybe it depends what the item is? This one was for the Benwick sofas.

I was only trying on the off-chance as I saw a comment yesterday about rebooking an earlier delivery slot.
1on4
2 May 16 #24
The delivery of items looks dependent on local stock and on the items ordered. My sofas ste comings Thursday but the 2 chairs I got for free (only paid delivery cost of £8.95 thanks to the automatic discount) won't be her until June. I don't mind waiting, i only wanted to try and speed things up so there is less chance of me not getting them!

Mine is due in June and the lady assured me over the phone that if they can give you a delivery date then your order has been accepted and being processed... Whether this is true or not is another story. I'm keeping hopeful! I made 2 separate orders within about 1hr & a half of each other and she assured me both will be delivered but on different days as they were arriving from different locations/departments. Fingers crossed for everyone! I keep looking on the website for more offers but I think everything (that was reduced) has been taken off or sold out
matti120
2 May 16 1 #28
I've just rang HB to esquire about my 3 orders and 2 have been booked in for June but they hadn't placed an delivery date for one of the orders, i would ring HB and enquire about your orders incase the same has happened to yours.I just reorder my delivery date and it will arrive 10 of May.

Call me slightly paranoid (and I'm being mindful of the Homebase/Aston settee thread http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/homebase-black-brown-aston-leather-sofas-78-off-including-corner-group-was-1k-now-1187436 where it was alleged lesser quality settees were being delivered)?

But I can see Piacenza sofa listings on ebay, from the same seller, listed as End Of Line.

This 3 seater http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272222282057
http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjQ4WDExNTI=/z/uboAAOSwEK9XAPx2/$_57.JPG
(which looks better quality)

And this 2 seater

Makes my blood boil when people order about 100 items to make a profit on eBay. I understand first come first served basis and in it to win it & so forth, but the average joe who just wants a singular item is pipped to the post by greedy so & so's. I have read so many posts on here where greedy monsters order a huge job lot & post it on eBay even before the item has been shipped! I truly hope the genuine people get their orders though! Ok rant over ha! And I hope we don't get fobbed off by cheap quality stuff either!
louiselouise
2 May 16 #32
Those two ebay listings are from a charity, so not sure if they sourced these sofas from this sale - looks as though they commonly do 6 day listings (these both have just over a day to go).

But yes, I can see other Piacenza listings (and other Homebase bargains) on ebay !
kimbo87
2 May 16 #33
Looks like a lot of orders from the other homebase post have been getting calls with regards to cancellations - it looks like it's all of the same item 'Ella 5 drawer unit' I haven't seen or read anything about sofas being cancelled YET!!! I rang up on saturday and the lady over the phone did assure me if you have a delivery slot in place your order should have been processed/confirmed. But until you have a dispatch email I wouldn't bank on anything! Good luck all!
kimbo87
2 May 16 #34
From the looks of the pictures (from the links you provided) I would say they have them in store already, which makes me believe they are probably genuine. I do hope that homebase don't try and fob us off with cheaper versions, I will be very disappointed :disappointed: it does make me wonder for the price we paid what they will be delivering to us though...

2 May 16 #35
Just seems very strange that both are advertised as "Homebase Piacenza" but look rather different? (Seat pads are different, colour of the leather, stitching under the arms etc). Weird!
kimbo87 to louiselouise
2 May 16 #36
Yea they both do look rather different... Unless one is a much older version, I'm not sure. IF and when I receive mine if it isn't good quality regardless of what I paid, I'm sending it straight back!! I have already looked into the return policy and its free after 28 days (I think)

I rang up homebase about my order this morning (I did a phone order for 2 large Piacenza sofas and got an order no) and the lady on the phone said that their system had not generated a delivery confirmation so they were cancelling the order. Apparently their system was generating orders even though the stock had run out... not happy

3 May 16 1 #40
I got a text this morning to confirm my delivery date on 11th May (have two orders coming in the one delivery which the CS lady kindly arranged). As others have said, the delivery order number differs.

Thought that was that, but the one order that didn't generate an order confirmation email in the wee hours of Saturday - I got an email confirmation about that today!

Homebase are going to phone back later on and advise whether it will actually get delivered, they say it takes a few hours to get a delivery date after checking stock.

To those with order cancellations, did you get a confirmation email? I chased up a delivery date by phoning them, as soon as I got up on Sunday.

I got 3 out of 4 order confirmations by email. The one that didn't generate an order confirmation email - I got it today - going to chase it up as they haven't phoned back, yet. (Edit: Now being told to wait 24 hours to book a delivery slot).

Got a text message today confirming delivery for the 11th for the Piacenza Sofas and Canonbury Bureau. Also I can see a refunded extra delivery charge in my bank account today - amazingly fast as I only arranged it on Sunday.

It's been mentioned earlier in the thread but if others have missed it - the Delivery Number is different to the Order Number (asked on the phone yesterday to confirm, as well).

Edit: Was on the phone to Homebase again to see if the Order that took days to trigger a Confirmation Email has went through - apparently they're still working on the backlog of migrating orders (quite a few are in limbo in this way) - I should get a phone call back today or tomorrow).

You can view your Order History (Homebase website) on your mobile (though to be honest it doesn't give up to date updates - as I changed one delivery address/name/number to my boyf's and it still shows as mine).

The Order Number (from the confirmation email/Order History) and Delivery Number are different, but you can look up the Delivery Number on Argos' Tracking Page https://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/OrderTracking?catalogId=10001&langId=110&storeId=10151&krypto=eNHC9XymqaIDllQqJhNEMRxoMwjCwCnOYHiz5HOHmIVeBsrCKlwhNxqIZ6dSt3Dvo7gxt%2BOMdJMg%0Azk4mfav9vA%3D%3D (same on here, it hasn't updated with boyf's details, so I phoned them yesterday to double-check).

I've moved my delivery (Piacenza 3+2) back a week as nobody seems to want my old sofas (put them on Gumtree for £60 and still no takers). Might just have to Freecycle them! Getting the Canonbury Bureau tomorrow though (they were originally put together on the same delivery, I'll find room for it somewhere).

Boyf is getting his Benwick 3+2 tomorrow.

The Constable Sideboard is still "in limbo" although the money's been taken, still trying to allocate stock. I'm expecting it to get cancelled :disappointed:

Having been given a delivery date of 19th May for my two Piacenza chocolate two seater sofas, I've just been called to say they Homebase have no stock and that they will refund my money. Good luck louiselouise. I'm based near Newport, South Wales so not sure where my local depot is. But having received all the order and delivery numbers, dates etc. and being assured it would be delivered on the phone it's very disappointing to be informed so late in the process when expectations are running high. Hope our family is the only one to be so disappointed. Just glad we hadn't told the children. I'm still consoling my wife and I'm not sure a bunch of flowers (not from Homebase) will cover it!

I was told my depot would receive more Piacenza sofas next week which made me raise an eyebrow (I assumed they were all packaged up with the customer's names/addresses beforehand) and allocated as they prepare for delivery (I was supposed to get mine yesterday but had to delay as I haven't had any takers for my old sofas).

Seems like a gamble - do I sell/give away my old ones and potentially end up with nothing?
kimbo87 to louiselouise

Can you not store your old sofas in a garage or something when your new ones arrive, and sell them on as & when? I wouldn't throw/sell them until the new ones are actually in your living room... you don't want to be left with nothing! It seems some orders are being honored and others not... it may very well be dependent on areas. I'm a little worried now myself! Fingers crossed for everyone!!

Old sofas uplifted, woohoo (seems even giving things away free, people are flakey, one person just didn't bother to turn up, the other cancelled with an hour to spare, two nights sat in like a lemon).

Delivery of the Piacenza tomorrow, got the text with the two hour delivery slot from Homebase. Then five minutes later, Argos text to say "Due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable to deliver your goods to you today...please accept our apologies and we will call you today to re arrange your delivery."

??? Nothing is due for delivery today - Homebase want to keep my nerves on edge! Phoned in a panic again and the girl says she can't see anything wrong, it must be a mistake.

All I have to do now is put the feet on and unwrap them. The guys were lovely, felt bad they had to lift them up two flights of stairs.

From the stickers on the sofas, it says the Argos Direct Depot is in Darlington, County Durham (?) as I'm in Glasgow I expected it to be Scotland somewhere. It came from Milton Keynes to the Argos Depot, then to me.

This sounds incredibly sad, but I have never had a new sofa before. They've usually been ex display or imperfect in some way  Managed to humph them around the living room and can't believe my late night gamble paid off!

Edit: This sounds like a criticism, and it's not, but I noticed the two seater is slightly darker/shinier/more burgundy tinged than the three seater that looks "drier" and duller.

I know there can be variations in leather upholstery - but it was annoying me so I dug out an old leather lustre kit I had at the back of the cupboard and got polishing. This is why both sofas now look "shiny".

I won't choke up the thread with big jpegs, but here's mine

Two seater http://i.imgur.com/6ertTPg.jpg
Three seater http://i.imgur.com/oI0doVF.jpg

The Canonbury Bureau is still in a box, waiting for boyf to assemble it. The Constable Sideboard is on its way to me 31st May. Boyf is getting the Benwick 3+2s on the 3rd June.

PS: I'm a worrier and have panic disorder so I get a bit obsessive/go a bit OTT when I worry. I actually had an upset stomach this morning waiting for the delivery guys! I need valium, ha! :innocent: Sorry for moaning on here, I do have some self-awareness!

PPS: Sis is saying the slightly lighter/duller one "must have been on display" - I'm not sure of that as they were both packaged up as though they'd came from a warehouse - and I had to put the feet on them first. Anyway, I'd have a cheek to grumble for £249!

I have the same date 16 June the twitter team gave me this delivery date and I asked them to confirm it as I needed to book a day off work I wonder if they have decided to cancel orders slowly as not to face the massive complaints and bad publicity which means they were never going to deliver any of the orders for June which is so underhanded and must brake trading standards rules on how company's are allowed to trade .

Hi all - new to commenting on the site but been using it for a while. I managed to get myself a sofa and an armchair at about 5pm ish the day of the deal. All seemed to be going well, but earliest they could book me in was June 17th, which set alarm bells ringing. Still last time I checked the Argos order tracker it confirmed the status as delivery on the 17th of June. Just checked just now though and got the following message in the order status section:

"We're sorry but we can't provide an online update for this order. For more information please call us on 0345 640 2020."

Got a horrible feeling I'm getting one of those calls soon.... My order status says "We're sorry but we can't provide an online update for this order"
But it said that before, even when they looked at it and told me it was still active.

The woman on the phone suggested that all the June onwards orders wouldn't be fulfilled because there was simply no more stock. Probably why It had such a long lead time, because they were seeing if they could actually get more stock in.

You might be lucky (especially if you ordered one of the leathery sofas as some of those seem to have been delivered, but if you ordered a fabric one then I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Then again the woman on the phone might not have all the information, just as the twitter people didn't the other week (they insisted my order was processing)

All I know is I ain't getting my sofa and chair, that's for sure. So I'll have to order something elsewhere. Luckily we have a rotten old sofa we can use for now, that we dragged over from our old house.

I was hoping at least they might offer a voucher (even a tenner) or something as an apology, but no.

My order has been cancelled too according to their (crappy) site now - An order of 1 sofa and 1 armchair with delivery date of 2 July.
Spoke to Homebase and told them it was pretty appalling service to take the money , cancel the order and not even notify me with an email or phone call. She seemed to think this was standard practice.
Also asked me to partake in a survey at the end of the call which I suggested was probably not a good idea given my current opinion of Homebase.

I checked on the argos website and the items of my order is unavailable, I also received their survey email so phoned them up and was confirmed that the order was cancelled. The annoying thing is the lady on the phone said she would do the refund "now", which means if I didn't call up they would not do the refund just yet. I still have not had any confirmation email of cancellation or refund though.

I don't mind if they have to cancel the items but the fact that they had kept our money for 20 days and cancelled they order but still had not refunded us is really bad. Should have limited their stock so if it's oos no one can order it instead of keeping money for months like this.

I'm a bit perplexed why Argos is being mentioned when this is a Hombase deal? I had a phone call from Homebase advising my order had gone through and I'm due for delivery on 18th June for 2 sofas and 2 armchairs. My order on Homebase website is still live and active, I have had a text stating that I am due for delivery on 18th June and will be notified 24 hours beforehand for a 2 hour delivery slot. Argos and Homebase are/were? part of the same group and are fulfilling the deliveries (all the stickers on my deliveries have said Argos on them).

Also, when your order is close to its delivery date, you will get a text with a different delivery number to the Homebase one, eg mine are 299xxxxxx - which you can look up on the Argos Delivery Tracker https://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/OrderTracking

Been discussed earlier in this thread, maybe you missed it

Louiselouise, good to hear you got your sofas in the end

I never had any text message from Homebase the day before delivery (despite being told on the phone I would get one) so I was in limbo right up to the day of delivery (and had to ring to get an update on the status instead).

Gutted for those getting cancellation messages, seems wrong for the company to hold people's money for this length of time and then decide to cancel and give it back.

I would phone them to check - I had nightmares of having an empty living room which is why I got my old sofas uplifted the night before. In saying that, I can see on another Homebase thread that one member had an order cancelled and refunded, then a text saying the item was scheduled for delivery a week later!

Seems to be a lot of miscommunication/bugs/errors going on so I would phone for piece of mind. Just leaving it would have me on tenterhooks and my nerves can't handle it!

Slightly off-topic, has anyone noticed (some of?) the new range looks identical, just different range "names" to some of their older furniture items?

A few examples:

Harbury Large Sideboard £299.40

Constable sideboard (now deleted off their site)

Ettington sofa currently at £374.50 on offer

Benwick sofa (deleted off their site, boyf waiting on this one)

This is probably quite cheeky, but I would think this gives some room for negotiation when asking about your sofa - though their get-out clause is that these are older ranges, and therefore not applicable. Worth a try, anyway.

The new Schreiber sofa range is here (you can sort the sofa ranges by ticking each "Collection" on the left).... http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/furniture/sofas-and-armchairs/sofas

I've just rung about my two orders one was for 2 chairs and one was for two large whittlebury sofas. The sofas are still showing delivery of 20th June but the chairs have been cancelled, no email or call. They hadn't processed the refund either despite cancellation apparently being on 19th may. I've got my fingers crossed for delivery of the sofas

I phoned Homebase again (ha) and they said, yes my order is still ongoing, they can't guarantee 100% but they see no problems at the moment...

Also, re the cancellation in the middle of the delivery slot on the 11th (boyf was gutted and had cleared his living room), apparently there was some sort of error between the receiving depot, the stock actually existed but didn't get followed through.

Does that mean (gulp) that someone got his Benwick 3+2 sofas instead? (Given a few of the "surprise" deliveries some people have had!). I asked if they could give me an earlier delivery date than June 3rd, in that case (if the sofas are in limbo somewhere) but they couldn't do that.

All very strange.....

They offered me the "Schrieber Allington Regular Sofa" in duck egg. Completely the wrong colour but when homebase call me (it was a company doing calls for homebase who called in the first place) I will ask for a colour change
KCooperman

It's Argos who are calling you. If they offered you another sofa then they are re-ordering it for you, so unless you asked for another colour there and then I doubt you can change it now.

They didn't say they were argos. I was told that the woman is just going through a spreadsheet of orders that they no longer have in stock, just asking if people will be happy with a replacement or want a refund, they then will pass it on to homebase, but they will call again first. I made very sure of this, so if it isn't the case I won't be best pleased.

I also found out that they are offering a replacement sofa on the name of the one you ordered, not colour, which seems rather silly. I ordered matching sofa's in "duck egg" which was a kind of light grey...now the sofa they have offered may be also called "duck egg" but it's very green and not very grey. Considering that they are still going to send me one of the original sofas this will be super annoying if they don't call back.

25 May 16 #219
If they are offering an alternative to orders which are now out of stock for one person then this means they have to make the same offer to everyone including the orders they have cancelled they cannot discriminate or say one persons order is more valid than any one else's in my view they should have either been honest and say from the beginning they do not have stock and refund or offer a replacement to every order made.

"Oh what a tangled web we weave when at first we start to deceive."

I just got that text too.... I hadn't been rung yet about cancellation so first time that they've contacted me. Is the number they've quoted in the cancellation text different to the delivery number? Mine doesn't match, so I have three different order numbers now - the homebase one, the argos one and the cancellation one.

Gutted, I was getting my hopes up that we can request an exchange.

Here's the full text:

"Hello this is an important message from Homebase in regards to your order 2214...... We are very sorry that due to popular demand we are unable to fulfill your order. A full refund has been issued and will appear into your account within the next 5 working days. Again we apologise for any inconvenience caused. If you have any further queries please contact us on 03456000402".

Let me know how you get on/if you have any luck getting a replacement instead of a refund

Turns out my order of 2x Lynford chairs has been cancelled but two of my orders are still due for delivery 16th June (2x Whittlebury chairs) and 30th June (2x Wyatt chairs). This matches what homebase told me yesterday, although they still don't fill me with confidence.

Regarding the Whittlebury I had a call yesterday like others saying was out of stock blah blah but offered to swap for the Allington. Although today its still showing on their system as the Whittlebury! Guess they are just doing the swap at the warehouse or there system is completely useless.

No, sorry I'm confusing myself! The cancelled text I got is for the lynford which matches the cancelled email I got. The one that was exchanged is still going to be delivered (apparently) although on their system it still shows the original sofa not the one it was swapped to

From previous comments it looks as if people yesterday were being offered a replacement from the new Schreiber sofa's that have appeared on the homebase site.

I'd be gutted if not everyone is given the option to exchange, but from the wording of the text I'm expecting them to say that they've already processed the refund so they can't exchange.

Just phoned up, which turns out to be Argos, saying nothing can be done other than refunds. Got put through to Homebase and the same response.

I think Homebase have abused this situation or have some serious business practise issues - read up 'an offer' vs 'invitation to treat'. Because payment has already been taken I think Homebase has to offer the goods, offer a similar alternative or compensation for loss.

Any legal savvy people here who could shed some light, or even write up a template what we can send in to Homebase?
mangomonkey
25 May 16 #231
I was also bitterly disappointed to have my two sofas (that I purchased for £150) canceled. Customer services just didn't care less about the situation it had put me in. They are in a win win situation. They have had our money for weeks, probably accumulated interest and positive money flow from it and are now simply handing back refunds. They will probably get compensation from the suppliers for failing to supply the goods, but we won't see a penny of this. And what infuriates me is that they have offered alternatives for some customers and simply canceled the rest.

On looking at the legal side of things, there is little we can do. Their terms state "2.3 Acceptance of your order and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on dispatch to you of the products ordered unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it (please refer to Returns and refunds)." So it is legal, but a bad way to treat customers. The only thing we can do is refuse to shop there again.

They have every right legally to refund your order but what they cannot do is offer one customer a replacement ? alternative item and not make the same equal offer to every other customer who decides that one is more deserving than another if this was in court a judge would ask how you decided to offer this customer ( A) a replacement and not customer ( B ) the same offer .

I'm by no means a law expert but why have a contract when a full refund can be given to no longer honour it? Surely the contract has some meaning to it, i.e. honour it or compensate for losses? How losses are measured is a different matter.

25 May 16 #239
I'm wondering if Homebase are offering replacements to those who have an identical option (re my Post #405 yesterday about some of their new stock having name changes but looking the same). Can see on the other thread someone was offered a Bramcote sofa when their Wyatt was cancelled (another two sofa ranges that look identical).

Boyf is waiting on the Benwick, the newer version is Ettington.

Or does it depend how much money you spent? Who knows!

Basically we have all been conned by Homebase. We all lent them money free of charge for them to use for their financial gain. These sofas can be fulfilled, as the same company is still making them for homebase. they have just altered the range slightly so they can say the item you all ordered is no longer available. But they could be quite easily. We have just been used and Homebase has gambled with our money, made some and now is returning our stake. Disgusting company!

I don't agree when Homebase say they've tried to source an alternative. Clearly there are alternatives, plenty of them! Really bad customer service and general behaviour from Homebase when they can't even be bothered to phone you to let you know. I have 2 orders, both got voicemail confirming the date of delivery, however argos order tracking status changed so I phoned up and one order got cancelled on the phone, and they said they would process the refund then. I never received any email or text to confirm the cancellation, but did get the money back after a few days.

I received an email about the cancellation of other order (they said they tried to call me but I never had a missed call though) and it's been a week but I have not received my refund. The order status on Homebase website is constantly in error, I don't know how much longer they are holding my money though, I can't be bothered to call them back after reading your posts.

How long after their cancellation do you receive your money back? Do you always receive email/text confirmation or just seeing the money in your account and know that the order is cancelled?

Doesn't make sense - it's all chaos! I saw PrincessJellybean's Homebase thread first during the day, thought not worth bothering about, all out of stock. Then ordered during one of my bouts of insomnia at 2am (website continually crashing), fully expecting cancellation emails. My bank then blocked my card - in the middle of the night.

When I phoned Homebase a few hours later and they offered me delivery slots I nearly fell off my chair! Still waiting on two orders.

My theory was that as I made delivery slots right away, maybe that's why I got my (two out of four so far) orders. I think some waited as they thought it was a glitch? Might be totally wrong on that one, given the refunds and surprise deliveries going on.

It's not at all fair that some people are offered replacements and others not. There needs to be consistency.

Just had a cancellation text. Unfortunately the order reference they've used is yet again another unrelated number so I don't know which of my 4 orders it relates to.

I'm not holding my breath for anything else now on (I thought it looked good to start with, lots of people, including myself received some goods). I'm really annoyed they've held onto my money for around a month.

Also, I've paid the balance off on my credit card, which is going to mean my credit card goes into a positive figure and I'll have to find something else to spend £500 on as I can't just transfer the cash back into my debit card without being penalised (I think). That's the most annoying part for me. I'd have liked them to offer a different means of refund given it's been so long.

I don't usually get too annoyed when deals like this don't come off as some deals always look 'too good to be true' but there is a way of dealing with a situation like this and Homebase don't seem to know the first thing about customer service.
I've gone from taking a punt on what looks like a good deal to vowing never to spend anything in their stores ever again. They may be acting within their loosely defined T's and C's but to hold peoples money for almost a month only to cancel everything is beyond poor.
The weird thing is when the order was taken I got several emails , voicemails and texts confirming the order , delivery date etc. Once they decided to cancel the order I had to contact them to find out more , request a refund and the only confirmation I get is a poorly worded text message a week later.
Pathetic excuse for a company.

Now I have a living room with no furniture at all, that's what infuriates me. A £40 voucher that will always been up for grabs to me! I've been bombarding them on their Facebook page trying to get the bottom of why alternatives for some but not for others. All I've had is lie after lie. Every time I catch them out on a lie and refuse to believe the answer they give me, their story would suddenly change to another lie. I've been at this for 2 days and now they are ignoring every post I write. I'm not giving up. I've already reported them to Watchdog and the Furniture Ombudsman. I have sent them personal messages on Facebook, which is what they ask you to do, written posts on their Facebook wall and emailed them a complaint. And I'm still not giving up.

Ordered 2 Wyatt sofas, cancellation text yesterday, refunded today, nightmare. Had day off booked for delivery and buyer arranged for old sofas. Terrible customer service.

27 May 16 #297
Apparently my 2x Wyatt armchairs are still going to be delivered on 30th June. They have told me this on 3 separate occassions but im not holding out much hope since its still a long way off... They probably just have not got round to cancelling mine yet.

Regardless of the price we paid, this is very poor customer service. If they were going to cancel order they should have done it within a few days, not one month later... It must be the suppliers who are refusing to honor the orders, hence why when you speak to homebase they have not got a clue whats going on!
barna
27 May 16 #298
From what I can gather the supplier is owed by homebase
Home Retail Group owns a number of well-known brands, including Alba, Bush, Chad Valley, Cherokee, Habitat, Hygena, Schreiber, Challenge, sovereign, cookworks and Heart of House.
So how could the not know the stock levels the truth is these orders were all made to order other wise they would have been delivered within 2 weeks, its simply a lie after lie and digging a deeper hole at some point there will have no other option but to tell the truth .

They have the next 4 weeks to slowly cancel the orders not going to cause a big wave that way just little ripples keep you thinking your order is going through but pick you off one by one ,offer some vouchers and others a alternative sofa a simple strategy of
divide and conquer
When you have a group of people coming at you don't try to take them all on, select a few and get them to change sides. You have now divided the group and it will be easier to do away with them

I have been talking to the CEO office, my order cancelled then an alt offered with August delivery on a product that should be on 28 day delivery, my worry is that they will cancel again, could be a ruse to keep money in their bank. paid with cc so covered but im wary, have also contacted watchdog

28 May 16 #305
Spoke to manager there is nothing he can do as they already cancelled my account - I was away on holiday so I couldn't protest it!! So basically I'm just getting a useless voucher! Fuming! He said alternatives were offered to those with similar fabrics or styles, apparently my order wasn't one! Good luck to everyone else!
barna
28 May 16 1 #306
Don't just take one persons answer there is no reason why you can not be offered an alternative, its what you are willing to except not up to what they think you will except as an alternative after all the full price of you sofa will be over £700 and on there site the cost of the most expensive sofa is large is less than £500 so the fact you are willing to take something of less value is enough for them to at least offer it .
kimbo87
28 May 16 #307
I tried to push for an alternative but he said there was no alternative for my purchase. I said I would be willing to accept a different fabric or style and he said he can't do that. Bloody useless!

I wasn't! I was told alternatives are being offered for those that they can source a similar sofa to. Wow so many lies!
hebgirl
28 May 16 #327
I would be interested to know the reasoning behind them offering alternatives as opposed to just cancelling your order.

Could it be that those who paid £120 per sofa are having theirs honoured compared with people who paid £20 who are having theirs cancelled.

I have been offered a replacement for an order for a suite costing £340, I am very happy but still have no high expectations for the order the be fulfilled.

Has anybody been in touch with trading standards because this is appalling. Disregarding the non existent customer service of Homebase if they've advertised clearance stock and when it's gone it's gone then they cannot keep on selling the product after it has gone. They must have had stock to sell to say when it's gone it's gone and all those who purchased should have their contracts honoured or at the very least be offered compensation to the amount that covers an alternative that they do now have in stock. If I receive a refund without notification I will take it to the highest level both with governmental departments, the CEO of Homebase, Watchdog and the national newspapers and with my c/c's legal team. I have an online contract with Homebase as well as a verbal contract over the telephone and a text message with dates for delivery telling me my sofas and armchairs were in stock, that they would be honoured and delivered on the 18th of June. As it stands Iam expecting them until told differently irrespective of a refund to my c/c without notification.

It was the Constable sideboard. It took days to generate a confirmation email, and about a fortnight ago they asked if I wanted to cancel as they couldn't allocate stock. I said I'd wait and it went through eventually.

The 3rd June delivery is for 3+2 Benwick sofas.
barna
31 May 16 #355
Would think these ( constable sideboard ) are a stocked item but the Benwick sofas are made to order ,I think all the sofas except the leather ones (probably made in Italy ) are made to order because of the many choices of covering which makes me believe that when they took all our orders they are lying about the stock issue but have simply changed the range and styles ,they may have had enough frames and material to make a limited amount of sofas before discontinuing the range so maybe a few will get their orders .
louiselouise
31 May 16 #356
Yes, I was led to believe the Schreiber (Homebase/Argos owned nowadays) sofas are all made to order, but maybe the earlier delivery dates are surplus stock from stores, not sure. I've phoned them so often I'm not going to bug them any more!

Recieved a phone call from argos this morning to say there was a delay on one of my orders.I had to wait on homebase contacting me as they knew all the details. When they did they told me that the order was actually being cancelled, the second one in a week!!I then asked about my other orders as they seemed keen to get me off the line, they then had a check & confirmed they were all cancelled!I got quite annoyed & brought up the fact that 1.I had been given dates for everything & assured I was getting my orders & 2.They have been holding nearly £300 of my money for absolutely nothing but their own benefit.I could've been spending this money on other things had they told me sooner but no. I think it's just one big scam!!I will be contacting a the head of office, emailing with all my details including a bank statement, contacting trading standards & taking this further.Absolute disgrace.Probably rolling around in all the money they've kept from all of us naive customers.....never again!!!

My order was cancelled by text. They eventually told me they would offer a thirty pound voucher but I've complained to the furniture ombudsman and as its reached deadlock they will now intervene. I ordered two mink wyatt sofas and was told no alternatives available, no stock, supplier let them down and most recently that no one who had ordered exactly what i ordered was offered an alternative. Lol their customer advisor said on the phone that others had but their was no suitable replacement for mine. When I asked if i could pay more for another sofa perhaps with discount and same delivery day I was told my order was cancelled and I'd have to go buy another sofa from somewhere else. Fantastic customer service.

He's sold his old sofas so I was nervous for him. Yes, he got them about an hour ago (delivery slot 8.30-10.30am!) Haven't talked to him properly yet today as he's rearranging furniture.

Thanks to both PrincessJellyBean and kimbo87 for alerting me to this Deal - I didn't think I'd get anything! Especially with delays and orders in limbo, nearly cancelled....many ups and downs.

The Piacenza cost me £249, boyf's Benwicks £179 (£100 discount on that one), Constable Sideboard £80, Canonbury Bureau £70. These were all separate orders, as the site kept crashing.
barna
3 Jun 16 1 #365
That's great news looks like the many calls you made paid off ,They probably new you would not just roll over if they cancelled and why I say everyone should not just take the cancelled orders as the end of the matter doing something is better than doing nothing even if its to complain to http://www.thefurnitureombudsman.org/ as Twinklystars22 has done in the post above you have nothing to loose .

I know it was an unrealistic price and i wasn't expecting it not to be honored in the beginning, but then after contacting them twice via telephone and a few times over email and each time reassured my items were coming, to suddenly out the blue while away on holiday to receive a refund! Of course I'm fuming, no warning, no apology, no nothing! If at the start they came clean and said they couldn't honor the order, i would have thought 'you win so, you lose some' kinda thing... but instead to take my money, set a delivery date and suddenly cancel with no warning, is totally not acceptable! joe Dutton said because I had been offered a alternative the highcliff sofa and chair by argos customer services a week ago he would honour the order but the delivery would be the middle of September, he then said I canot guarantee that I would receive my order and would I like to continue with it, I replied yes I then aske what chair would come with the order as the original order was for a sofa and chair, he put me on hold for 5 minuets then came back and said I am cancelling the order altogether ,I was gob smacked could not believe what I was hearing ,he then offered me a £75.00 voucher which I refused I will take my chance in court they will cave in well before then as they don't have a leg to stand on and I doubt Joe Dutton will be in his position much longer you cannot do what he has just done to me and get away with it.

They confirmed the price in the sale was correct and not a price error when asked on twitter and Facebook, so you have every right to complain they have constantly lied with different excuses to different people, I would of excepted the candled orders if they had not offered me an alternative on the phone (they contacted me)which I excepted gave me the details but no delivery date or new order number, I then had a call from the directors office (Joe Dutton) about a week later he candled the alternative I complained you cannot do this so he put me on hold 5 minuets later he said because I had been offered the alternative they would honour it ,I asked what about the chair on this order he again put me on hold 5 minuets later came back and said I am just going to cancel the order altogether but I give you a £75.00 voucher I could not believe what I was hearing refused it and put the phone down absolutely furious no retailer can treat customer this way and I for one will pursue this until there is no more I can do would recommend every one to do the same .

you can put the homebase order number in but it will probably not say much ,you would need the delivery number you may have had a text or phone message automated usually starts with 0 rather than the404 number from homebase

I would check your bank account or credit card every day to make sure they don't just refund you ,I think another trick they use is to refund you and hope you will say nothing on the off chance they still deliver that's why there is no email or anything .

What does there terms and conditions state re: late/failed delivery?
I'm thinking small claims seems like the way to go.
No harm in asking for return of money + interest at 8% or the equivalent to the banks base rate.
People start to listen when they are faced with a lawsuit
Just a thought...

Furniture ombudsman is the way to go, since they are members. First though, email homebase and make a formal complaint as you need to give them the opportunity to ressolve before going to the ombudsman.

Take a look at the code of practice:-http://www.thefurnitureombudsman.org/document/full-member-code-of-practice-2015.pdf

Below are the ones I'll be referencing in my complaint:-

5. Provide consumers with clear, transparent and accurate information regarding product prices, guarantees, delivery costs and any cancellation rights having due regard to any relevant legislation and guidance;

6. Deliver products as agreed, on time and in good condition and advise the consumer of any issues that may compromise delivery as soon as is practicable;

Promote good customer service and professionalism amongst staff and encourage them to meet all service requests with courtesy and efficiency;

9. Listen to all complaints in a fair and reasoned manner and adopt an effective procedure when trying to resolve them. In the event of an unresolved dispute, accept the ruling of the Ombudsman’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Service;

This is the latest news of what the new owners of homebase are doing ,
Gillam will put the case next week for the company to open a pilot store (bunnings)in the second half of this year and, depending on its performance, roll out stores from there. But he will stress the company is not committed to spending any money in the UK unless it is justified.

He will also make clear that the Homebase business is not great, adding that the acquisition gave Bunnings a licence to operate in the UK not an operating business
From what I see homebase will not exist as a business as they only wanted the network of stores, distribution centres,

[email protected] maybe more emails might get his attention or he just could not care less as he intents to close the homebase business altogether not rebrand it as buntings so any guarantees or product replacements will not exist, they only wanted an operating license in the uk to open the Bunning's stores

I received two benwick chairs about 3 days after placing my order. I guess they were in stock rather than being made to order.

I also ordered two sofas in a different style and a few other bits with longer delivery times.

The sofas have been showing as unavailable in the order tracker for weeks. I had a call a couple of weeks ago and was offered an alternative which I accepted. A couple of days ago I had two text messages confirming July delivery of the alternative sofas - Argos tracker is showing them as available but I fully expect these to be cancelled too. Why offer alternatives only to cancel them weeks later?

I am still expecting my other pieces next Monday (20th June) although some aren't showing as available on the order tracker. Those include: Chaise lounge, 2x chairs and a foot stool. I think only the chaise lounge is showing as available. I haven't even had text messages for the 2 chairs! We'll see what happens on Monday but I'll be annoyed as I've booked a day off work.

Agreed, I'm grateful for the two chairs I did get. Still very frustrated at how Homebase have handled this though. They've held on to a lot of people's money for months and made promises they've not kept. If they had contacted us all within the first week and said "very sorry, we made a mistake, they're all misprices and going to be cancelled" that would've been fine, instead they've just strung us on with delivery confirmations and alternative items for weeks. People have got rid of their old furniture and made arrangements for deliveries whilst being out of pocket for the best part of two months.
barna
16 Jun 16 1 #436
If they had said it was a price error everyone would have excepted it and moved on ,but they were asked over and over again on twitter, Facebook email, and the reply was no it the correct price and your order will be delivered this is why people are going to pursue them for compensation for the full value of the orders they have made not the price you paid average sofa was around £750.00 this is loss of bargain ,also the days taken off for deliveries, stress, redecoration of rooms which may be new carpets, flooring ,curtains, wall coverings ,soft furnishings, lamps the list gos on. They could offer any sofa in there current range as an alternative as these are all less than £500.00 so you would infract be taking a loss in value of £150.00 or more on you order which means they cannot state there is no alternative for what you ordered.
Homebase thinks it can just disappear and Bunning's ( new business nothing to do with homebase including all guarantees, replacements ect ) will pop up as a replacement no question asked Wesfarmers the parent company getaway with mistakes by saying all our company's operate autonomously ( independent ,Independent in mind or judgment; self-directed,) This is why I stared this petition the new CEO peter Davis has a lot to answer to.

I hope they do deliver some orders as this will form a legal case they cannot say one customers order is more valid than another's its is discrimination ,I also think this is why they have cancelled the alternative orders as they offer one customer this they need to make the same offer to all ,they have pushed delivery dates back further and further ,at the moment Argos are delivering the orders this is about to change as Sainsburys take over and the 2 business split altogether ,homebase is a cash poor company with a pension deficit so when Wesfarmers purchased it from home retail group the 350 million will go to prop up the pensions ,Wesfarmers do not want homebase in there own statement they say its not good they only want the distribution, and licence to open there own stores Bunning's so anything homebase has done to it customers in there view will have nothing to do with them ,a bit like Philip green nothing to do with me

yes i ordered a sofa and 2 chairs whittlebury, i had a phone call about the chairs saying they had been upgraded to the allington snuggler chairs chunky mullberry, which i asked about the sofa would that be the same. they said they didn't no and would get someone to contact me. didn't hear anything back from them so asked on facebook , they said only the chairs had been upgraded and the sofa would be what i ordered, so it would be a red velvet sofa and lilac chenille chairs, so i cancelled the sofa they only refunded £82.50 when on my receipt the price was £120 when asked they said the £100 promotion voucher had been split across the order so £37.50 off the sofa and £62.50 off the 2 chairs so that's why it was less. chairs was suppose to be delivered the 15th but got a text 3 days before saying delivery changed to the 26th. not holding much hope to getting them.

I was told yesterday on the phone that they knew about the *issue* of supply just days after the sale happening!!!!!
oh...but apparently they contacted people to let them know!?
Anyone?!?!?
That the sale happened because the supplier had a surplus of fabric and they were trying to get rid of it.
The person on the phone also told me that I should call back weekly to get an update on my sofas... (mine were due to be delivered 24th June...have abeen told there's a delay and no further date can be given at present)
I was informed that I can of course accept a refund. ..but...The call centre staff have been advised they are not to offer alternative sofas nor are they to offer gestures of goodwill and that I should keep my remaining sofa just in case because the supplier cannot keep up with

I of course am livid and devastated.
They've had interest free loans from us all for weeks whilst they sort out their failing business.

the parent company can do the right thing if it wanted to

Wesfarmers Limited is an Australian conglomerate, headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, with interests predominantly in Australian and New Zealand retail, as well as in chemicals, fertilisers, coal mining and industrial and safety products. With AU$62.7 billion in the 2015 financial year, it is now the largest Australian company by revenue,[2] overtaking retail rival Woolworths Limited and mining giant BHP Billiton. I've just received this.

Thank you for your email regarding the cancellation of your order and I apologise that on this occasion you have not received the standard of service you should expect.

I can confirm that your order was taken in good faith as we were expecting more stock, however due to the high demand the suppliers could not fulfill the order which is why we have now had to cancel the order and can assure you that we contacted as soon as we were made aware of this. We did try to source an alternative for you however there was nothing available and so a full refund has been actioned, please allow up to 7 days for this to show back in your account.

As stated in our terms and conditions we do advise you not to remove any current fixtures and fittings as all orders are subject to availability and can confirm that whilst I appreciate that on this occasion we have let both you and ourselves down, as with all home delivery orders there is no contract until the items have been despatched from our warehouse and delivered to you. This is also confirmed on your order confirmation.

Once again, I do apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment caused to you.

I was a due delivery of a large Wyatt sofa today, but got the delivery delayed text and recorded message on Wednesday. A woman rang today to say they had oversold during the flash sale and as no suitable alternatives were available they would have to cancel the order. I asked about good will gesture and she agreed to send me a £20 gift card. I guess I could have argued for more, but there you are.

Just to let anyone know still waiting for sofa's. I have had two new Hartfield large (light grey) delivered today. The retail price was £749.00 each = £1498.00 and I got both for £208.00 so firstly thanks to original poster for putting up the deal and sorry to anyone who's missed out but there's still hope for those waiting!

Well things keep chopping and changing, it looks like my replacement footstool has either been cancelled or rescheduled as the dreaded we can't confirm info has appeared against it on Argos tracking. However I got 2 Tilney chairs this morning. I never expected to get them especially as they only cost the postage.

Just wondered if you had heard anything back from Citizens advice? Both of our sofas were cancelled today - 3 days before delivery was due and homebase's reaction over email was that they were very sorry and that 'Should you remain unhappy with our position, I would kindly advise you to seek further advice independently.' happy to fight on but never been in this position before so not sure who to go to other than Citizens Advice!

the details have been passed to trading standards ,I have also been contacted to provide more information to the guardian on Homebase and if other have done the same it should hit the news this is when they take notice ,I have one order date left it is a cancelled order for the 1 July when this date has passed I will send Homebase a LBA( letter before action ) stating I intend to proceed with legal action for loss of bargain which is the full price of the sofa at £749.00 each ,they will need to prove that they had stock when the sale was posted( these are made to order) other wise it would be delivered in less than 2 weeks not the 6-8 weeks estimated, the second email confirming order dates is a contract formed ( under consumer law )the first email is just confirmation and this is why they state contract not formed until you item is dispatched but it is widely understood that once the second email is sent this can be taken as a contract , they have told different and conflicting story's for why orders are cancelled ,they have confirmed the prices were correct and not price errors, they changed the name of one sofa to avoid delivering it at the sale price and to continue selling it ,they suddenly over nigh removed all furniture from the site and will be asked why ,I will also ask the company that supplied the sofas for information they will have nothing to loose as Homebase must of just pulled the plug on them , they will need to answer to why some customers had orders fulfilled and others did not (my orders went in before this was even posted) and were cancelled, why alternatives were offered and then cancelled, why some customers were offered vouchers, cheques and not others no matter what happens they should be shown for what they are an Australian conglomerated ( WESFARMERS )with no morels the only thing they are interested in is making money for there share holders and will walk over anyone to do just that ,They also use we operate all our businesses independently which means if one business acts badly its nothing to do with us the parent company but its the Wesfarmers name that should be held responsible for leaving the elderly, disabled , pregnant customers with out furniture and also out of pocket, the redecoration, new carpets and much more there will be many who disposed of there sofas ( given away , took to the tip ,sold for next to nothing, had to pay for someone to collect them ) It has made my blood boil at the total indifference shown by the new CEO peter Davis (former Bunning's chief operating officer PJ Davis) .

Just fyi my parents received the two sofas they ordered yesterday, they had their delivery date changed but all was ok. One of mine should be arriving on Friday (I called yesterday to check) and the other has been put back a month. It seems to be going ok for me, but I am not going to get my hopes up. I now have a rubbish opinion of Homebase though because of the way they have dealt with all of this!

When I complained to them I mentioned the bit about still having 578 (full price) sofas for sale on their website, even though they had cancelled my delivery. They just replied that they had tried their hardest to locate an alternative and had informed me as soon as they were unable to locate another sofa. They also included some legalese as to why they hadn't broken any contract with me.

Well done emmylou4004 - glad to see you are not letting this drop. My sofas actually arrived on 22 June as planned but it was a very traumatic time for me before that, calling them every other day, one day cancelled and the next showing for delivery. We purchased a sale item, got our receipts and confirmation, so should get our sofas. Good luck.

Text changing delivery 3 days before arrival of sofa and chair. Cancellation call received yesterday. Complaint made yesterday. Fobbed off with 'no contract is made until despatch' today.

Not the end of the world, was some bargains to be had and some people benefited which is good. I've forwarded details on to BBC Watchdog, see if I get a response. Linked this page into the details too.

Thanks for the info Barna! Like I said I have never been in this situation before so its great getting some advice  I ended up making a complaint through the Citizens advice website last night (not sure if that was correct!) outlining my complaint, mainly because they confirmed so many times there was no problems and therefore I organised a man and a van (costing me money). So nothing to loose powering through! Plus on their email they pretty much invited me to continue to fight so that I will do.
Will let you know if I hear anything else!

My little chairs are Tattersall mink and I'm not keen on the fabric. It's a bit like fine chenille and brown/cream and a bit (I don't want to insult anyone here) like you're gran and grandad would have. Don't get me wrong they cost £9 so I can't complain but if I'd seen the fabric I wouldn't have picked Tattersall mink. I thought it was more a linen fabric.

We understand from your email that you are having issues with Homebase.
Your rights and obligations:
We would advise that you read through the terms and conditions as this should clarify exactly when the contract is formed. Sometimes, a trader’s terms and conditions may state that the contract is not actually legally binding until the goods are dispatched to the customer, even if payment has been taken or confirmation email sent. Therefore there is no legal contract in place until the goods are dispatched so the contract cannot be enforced. If after reading the terms and conditions you feel that the contract has been formed then if the trader still refuses to send you the item then you would ultimately have to consider taking action through the small claims procedure.
If the trader refuses to honour what has been agreed then it can be seen as reasonable to put you back into a pre contractual position, in other words back to how you were before this agreement took place. While we appreciate you want the trader to provide you with what you agreed to, no one apart from a judge in a civil court can order the trader to honour the agreement.
In addition when you pay for something using a form of credit you may hold the credit provider equally liable under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (providing the purchase amount is over £100 and under £30,000) if there is a breach of contract.
For our records, we would be grateful if you could tell us if you were sent a written contract in a durable format (via post, email etc) with all relevant pre contract information and a 14 day cooling off period. The reason we ask this is as if the trader has not, then they would be in breach of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations and could be a potential criminal offence.
Your next steps:
If after reading the terms and conditions you fell a contract has been formed, we would suggest you follow the trader's complaints procedure and obtain proof of doing so, if the trader does not have a complaints procedure to follow we would suggest taking a formal approach and addressing the trader in writing. We would suggest obtaining proof of sending the letter/email and keeping a copy of any contact – this may help you prove that you have contacted the trader and tried to resolve the matter amicably.
We would advise you outline any relevant events regarding this issue and make it clear what you expect from the trader and why. It should also give the trader a reasonable time to resolve the matter.
Bearing in mind the information detailed above; if you wish to pursue a civil claim further, you could approach the trader and ask for details of their online dispute resolution procedure. To clarify, when consumers have a problem with a trader regarding a product or service they bought online, they can attempt to settle the matter through an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) procedure. Resolving disputes through ODR, in general, is easier, faster and less expensive than resolving disputes before a court.
What we’ll do:
We will inform your local Trading Standards of the trader's activities in this situation. In order to pass all the relevant information to the appropriate Trading Standards authorities we would require the trader's full postal address including postcode.

Unfortunately it doesn't address the issue that they held the money for so long. I would hope a contract is formed when they do that regardless of when it's dispatched or you can have companies abusing it.

30 Jun 16 1 #558
Current understanding of web-based transactions is based almost solely on a collective belief of how such transactions should progress from lawyers – it has not been legislated for by Parliament, nor tested before the courts. It is generally accepted that an advert on a website of an item for sale at a certain price is the invitation to treat and the process of filling out the order form and passing over personal details such as credit information by the customer is the offer. Following this to its logical conclusion, the next communication from the retailer is the acceptance of the offer, at which point the contract is formed and the retailer is therefore under a legal duty to perform, The delivery confirmations emailed after the order confirmation should be enough for a court to agree that this is a contract formed coupled with the amount time taken from delivery confirmation to when they cancelled the orders .

I called them on Tuesday, 100% being delivered this morning. NO DELIVERY! Just gave them a call, was told they "must have run out of stock" since Tuesday and someone should have called me. What utter rubbish! My partner took the day off work too. They are now going to see if they can find me an alternative to match the alternative one they are sending me next month - but I have to wait until next week to find that out. I'm just going to go buy sofas somewhere else, and if these do turn up I will sell them. I know deals like this often don't work out, but their communication about this whole thing has been appaling!

The Saga continues . I was only informed yesterday that delivery of snugglers ( part order)was cancelled. I m expecting delivery of a large ettington tomorrow. Although failing to understand that all this time they never bothered to mention before when rescheduling delivery dates starting from 28/6 to to 15/7 to 29/7 to 27/8 , when I did not receive the goods on 27/8 , called them and they told me it is due for delivery 4/9 but still no mention of the snuggles being cancelled.
Payment was charged on 29/4 and if they knew on 11/6 they could not deliver , should they have not refunded ?

Well you'll never guess what. I was in Homebase Harrogate and the piece of furniture I mentioned above that was cancelled was part of their clearout. It was £35 instead of £70 so I still got it and even cheaper. Was originally £399. So the only thing I ended up not getting was the mini sofa bed. Although one of my footstools is square not rectangular and has the wrong feet. So I'm very chuffed tonight and I popped into Morrison's next door and got some very posh eclairs that I'm going to use to celebrate by eating.
