I have no idea what this does, but it looks so cool I feel like I need it. Any ideas what I can do with this?

One PCI-E slot renders this unsuitable for me unfortunately but otherwise these are excellent! Hopefully another ML10 deal will come along too

They sell them with the cpu in now my temps are fine. I bought a pc with i3 3240, 8gb ram, 1tb hard drive and Windows 7 license for £50 on Gumtree then swapped the cpu, took half ram and swapped 1tb with a 500gb and sold it for £50 so nice free upgrade except couple pound petrol. Look around facebook computer groups for 10600e ram for the gen 8 I got 2x 8gb sticks for £20. Didn't know the i5 2390t did vt-d excellent thanks I will be getting that next.

Upgraded with a 1220L and 16GB RAM, great machine ... Use it as a vCenter server in a home lab, an ML10 might have been a more cost effective purchase though!

How much for Xeons? ..and I didnt think i3-3240 was compatible (as not ECC ) Might be a good upgrade if it is ..... altho it does look like its over the thermal budget too

The 3240 works with ECC, I think Intel ARK is wrong.Source

Ive purchased and installed an i5 2390t. Not a bad chip, fair step up on the celeron and hyperthreading and vtx etc also. if you're quick there's one left online at Cex for £45 plus 2.50 postage.
That along with an extra 8gb stick and ordered a fdd to sata power to run a 5th drive in the odd makes this a cracking cheap esx box.
Oh and a 2gb micro sd for the ESXi installation.

install xpenology and have a fully featured professional NAS. File storage, VPN, personal cloud, video server (dlna/plex), security cameras, and lots more.
Opening post
All of the details are pretty well documented on this, this is just a bump to let people know it has been extended again and is in stock.
