I have about 40 eneloops but am picking up 20 recyko from various halfords tomorrow. I'll run them through my Maha C9000 to test, but I'm fairly confident they'll be great.

sorry mate, but in stock in my nearest store & that's 20 mile away from me in rural Devon (we've only got 2 cities in the whole county!) I appreciate your frustration cus I often can't get deals, even in Tesco & asda cus ours are so small, but hey that's life, as unfair as it is  But don't knock someone for posting a deal that others can get, that's the reason for this site.

i wonder what your reading will be one those pound land batteries.
I've been living off those for years, I cannot remember buying Duracell/energiser since my 5 year old was born.
Even though I imagine £L battery don't last as long...on the long run I probably spent the same as someone paying for charging units/batteries/electricity/replacement cost/the effort/loss of mah/etc ....unfortunately no data recorded to back this claim - but I like to think so... I'm a big fan of the VC4 (also) by XTAR, as a user, it isn't perfect but for a family friendly, capable unit (you just need to know which channels to use for speed & power draw if in a hurry) ..runs very cool, I had it running 24/7 for 5 days the batteries were as cool as can be, very reassuring, combined with a decent power adapter to give best power it is very versatile, best I've encountered, (charges Ni-mhs & Li-ion variants).
Where I am truly bowled over is that the uk distributor is very knowledgeable rather than a re-seller (ok there are those around too) ..however it comes with a genuine warranty for use in the uk & the master distributor is very effective answering battery queries.
Worth £18.30 of my money any day.
Having churned through 3 of 5 battery chargers we own the Xtar VC4 is a really well credited bit of kit, batteries are safe to be left in connected, it will merely boost them periodically at low levels, not cook your batteries.
Some of my best batteries were 7day shop own brand, (as well as my worst) li-tronic actually held up well for the c cells we tried (aldi) ..duracell D cells were dead upon purchase, (never again)
Moving primarily to lithium-ion now, (bike batteries etc).
My worst (& shortest lived / most tetchy chargers are still on sale via 7-day shop, ...the Xtar positiviely stamps all over anything i've used before, I just need to find a good source for li-ion batteries of quality if anyone can give me pointers please.
For the money though this is a great deal, but don't rest on your laurels we are so used to portable power these days a slow charger along these lines aint going to cut it, but for those who can live with slow ((warm)) charge .."from 6 hours" ..sheesh.
ok to get you out of a fix though & free batteries, so perhaps ideal for little monsters who steal all your charged ones for xbox controllers, ...in their room 4 batteries, sorted!

Loads still available near me. Just ordered in my local town (population 8,000).
Also plenty of 4 pack batteries.
Always found rechargeables lasted about a sixth of the time of ordinary batteries, were massively more expensive in short run an double cost in long run. Just personal experience. Haven't bothered for donkeys years. Maybe they've improved.

Don't bother.
These are good for couple of months and then looses capacity dramatically.
Used so know well. After only 7 months use and 50-55 charges they can keep only 847 mAh max instead of 2000...

i just got a floureon bt c2000 charger the other day from ebay for 15 quid.
thing is amazing you can see the voltage of each cell.
each cell is charged individually, you can change the charge rate, see how long each has been charging for.
worth the extra to get a charger that tells you what your battery is doing.
i.e you can do a test on each battery and see the capacity.
if you have 2 in a device, when you put them in to charge if one cell has a much lower voltage than the other you know its bad.
im using 4 lidl tronic batteries for 2.99 will see how they go
