EE Buzzard 2 Car Wi-Fi Hotspot – 24GB
This is cheaper than a contract from EE.
I bought this for my son to use in the motorhome.
Peaceful journeys ahead.

And you've quoted a price that appears to be £22 for the rest of us but I'm happy to be shown to be incorrect if you'd be so kind to show us how to get 16GB for £11 a month.
I chose the option that includes the 4G car mifi dongle incidentally, that seemed to be the logical comparison to this deal.
I'm a bit puzzled as to why this deal has got you so hot and bothered but I'm more concerned that I actually give a toss to reply. I've had a word with myself and punched myself in the nuts to remind myself that it's only HUKD.

If you look on EE's website you'll find its £100 for the same as this, and contracts offering 24gb of data would cost you in excess of £120

On a 24month contract that gives the dongle with 2GB data a month for £11 plus £19.99 upfront, that totals £283.99
This is not directly comparable because it's a one off payment of £69.99 for effectively half the data you'd get for your 24 month contract.
You have to make you own mind up which is cheaper/better.

My mistake I thought it was 2gb a month for 12 months plus £19.99. I was not trying to mislead anyone, just thought it was a good deal. I won't post another for fear of upsetting you.

I can't help but think that if I left this in my car, it wouldn't be long before someone put my window through to nick it!

Not very clued up on these things. Anyone care to explain the pros and cons of this deal and perhaps links to better options if any?

Excellent deal been looking for one of these. 24gb internet over 12months useful. Anyone know how easy to unlock to use a 3 sim?

Unlocking is what I plan to do when I have used the data. I think you just have to pay for the unlock from EE. Time will tell.

Very difficult. I purchased one of these and sold it on eBay as in my opinion it is inferior to the Buzzard 1. The Buzzard 1 can be unlocked for free or as cheap as 99p on eBay. The easiest route to unlocking the Buzzard 2 i guess would be through EE at a cost of £10-£15.
The other issues with this vs the 1st Gen are it plugs straight into the 12v socket (no usb to 12v adaptor) and it does not auto on when you turn the ignition on like the Buzzard 1 does. You have to press the power button each time you want to use it. I personally want a seamless experience for it to auto on and my phone to connect as it would with any other WIFI; makes it more prominent for me as my 1st Gen is hidden in the boot.
Plus with 1st Gen you could use it as a standard 4G modem outside of the car due to it's USB connectivity.

This would be a great idea if the data was good for the whole of Europe. Just rang EE and the guy on the end of the phone was unable to tell me a lot. Just not all the data is valid in the EU just some. I think its 100mb a month like the phone contract but its unclear. This would be great for a UK sales rep who needs internet access on laptop and phone. It is cheaper than a contracted deal.
