So how long will the sim keep active for, and will you only lose the 99p after intial 30days is up?

You must make at least two chargeable actions every 120 days to keep the SIM and credit live. As long as you do this it does not expire

Sim is also set up on a £1 weekly tariff so before inserting you need to ensure data is off on your device & you need to sent a text to stop pack......all £5 then stays available
The credit does not expire in 30 days. The SIM comes with the Talk and text pack that gives you 25 minute and 50 texts valid for up to 7 days. Each seven day period costs £1 until such time as you either cancel the plan or change it for a different plan.

Just tried it with Google Play
Turned off mobile data
(Make sure the phone is off if you don't want to risk damage when changing the SIM)
Inserted EE SIM
Checked mobile data was still off
Sent "BA" text to 150 to check balance - £5.00
Sent "STOP PACK" text
Reply came back asking me to confirm by sending "YES" text
Sent "YES" text but got reply back "Sorry, we are unable to process your request ...." - Typical crappy EE PAYG service - happens alot
Checked balance - still £5.00
Went on my daughters phone and purchased £2.99 worth of Subway Surfer coins then £0.69p twice making £4.37
Google Play sent SMS to EE to check balance
New balance is £0.63p so seems texts to EE 150 and Google Play balance check text to EE are free
Now looking for some 10p apps to use up what is left
Result - got almost £5 of play store credit for £1

Not too sure what you mean by 'miss calling'. The action you take needs to cost money so the call would have to go through or send a text or open the internet

I would imagine so if you go through the standard process of transferring your number

If you're on EE already you'll need to port out to another network then back, annoyingly.

I must have bought a couple of these around this sort of time, but only opened them yesterday. Neither of them work - they show emergerncy calls only.
Do these need to be used within a set time after purchase? I didn't think this ws the case.
Am I able to reactivate these or am I a couple of quid down?
I've tried the powering off and on method. It picks up the EE network but doesn't correct the time, doesn't connect via data and fails sending SMS.

Go easy on me this is my first post :/
