Until the 29th April, discounted Chester Zoo tickets can be purchased from the Visitor Information Centre (located by GAP Store) at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet @ £18 for Adults, £15 for Children. They're valid for use on the day OR UNTIL 21st July 2016 - so you can buy ahead for flexibility, save money and bypass queues at the Zoo's ticket booths!
Cheshire Oaks is about 10 minutes from the zoo. The Visitor Info. Centre opens at 9.30 a.m.. It's just off M53 jct. 10, or M56 jct. 15.
Currently, tickets at the Zoo gate cost £26 Adult / £22 Child. You can buy on-line from the Zoo at a lower price but tickets only valid for a specified date - and still dearer than from Cheshire Oaks. Family tickets might work out better, so best to check and compare.
I appreciate not everyone approves of zoos, but for those who want to visit I hope this info. is of use. I've visited a couple of times in the last month - it's a lovely zoo and a great day out. The new Islands section is a must!

Last time I went they put the lions away because it was windy.

I think £22 is a reasonable price for Chester Zoo. I was there yesterday from 10am to 6pm and still didn't manage to see it all. Also considering they are investing in the future of endangered animals then it represents a fair price for all.
Well worth the price and very highly reccomended

You obviously haven't been to Chester Zoo, you can spend all day there and still not see all of it.

Yep. And, if you opt to accept the 'voluntary donation' for animal conservation work I believe it goes up to £28!!

A friend of mine went to visit the pandas at Edinburgh Zoo, only to find that one was being kept inside "because it had a bad night"...

if you get a kids sponsor and animal pack (have to order in advance) for £60 you get a stuffed toy, 2 open ended tickets (each for1 adult or 2 kids) a magazine, stickers, name on a board etc. not much dearer when you add in the toy etc. than standard tickets.
