Ian McShane, who I always liked but never rated too highly as a 'great' actor is a fantastic in this. Career highlight.
Very high quality produced series.

Such a pity they didn't finish the series off right. Brill series.

Just watched this again on sky box sets. Fantastic series my favourite, the language is almost Shakespearian it's such a shame it was cancelled before the story lines concluded. Hot!!

Phenomenal series. Agreed, such a shame it was cut short, felt so jarring and so sad to finish where it did. Though there have been whisperings of a reboot.
The dialogue is the absolute highlight (if you can keep up, it's f**king incredible) but the acting, set and costume design, historical elements all feel very authentic. I watched it all on Amazon Prime video last year for free though you have to pay for it that way now. Got this bluray from Zoom for £14.40 before Christmas, haven't got round to watching yet but I hear there are some audio sync issues in some episodes. Widely reported but hopefully not too distracting.
In summary, it's a fantastic show and deserves 15 of anyone's pounds.

There's been rumours of a TV movie and a mini-series to tie loose ends up for years, but I also read that they'd demolished the sets which makes it less likely. It'd be a shame if it was never properly finished but equally it'd be a shame if they did a "Godfather Part 3" on it...
Amazing series. If you like westerns or very well made TV such as the Wire or Sopranos then you need to see this

Is the mastering of this Blu Ray correct now? I'm sure there always used to be comments about one or more episodes having borders, issues, sound problems or similar and it always put me off....
Cheers

A few episodes still have problems, even in the re-release.
They won't be getting my money for a defective product.

It has all new problems now. Reports of jumping image in some opening scenes on some discs.
One to avoid.

I bought this at Christmas and there is one episode where the lipsynch goes out slightly.
That's one out of 36 episodes that has an issue, so still worth the money IMO

My favourite television series. Inspired me to visit the Black Hills myself. Also, people may be pleased to hear, after the whispers for years, they confirmed earlier in the year that a Deadwood movie is going to be made.

Terrible treatment of a great show. Dodgy mastering and none of the extras on the US version.

Agree with the comments it was a great show and only watched the first two series and it was disappointing that it never got a proper ending as did Carnaval another HBO that just stopped with no relove. Bought as really worth watching again the cast were fantastic and not the normal cowboy nonsense...
