For the reasons of it never needing a battery replacement and being atomic make this worth the cash alone. The fact it is also a looker makes this a hot deal.

never be testing that out in your lifetime

It is possible to technical divers to go deeper than 200m (700ft) with closed circuit rebreathers. This sort of ultra-deep diving requires extraordinarily high levels of training, experience, fitness and surface support in the form of decompression chambers.

Nice watch but I don't think the bracelet is titanium as advertised. I think it's rubber with titanium bits in it.

Not a fan personally as the holes cut into the rubber weaken it, it will last a few years tops and then you'll be trying to find a replacement that fits well/neatly.

slighlty different model, but it will be this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvpObKqcjDM

and it says this

STRAP/BRACELET MATERIAL Rubber strap, Titanium bracelet

The titanium is the clasp underneath
voodooboard
10 Apr 16 1 #31
The main body of the strap appears to be rubber (or possibly silicone) and it has titanium links or highlights inlaid into it.

I own a older model of this watch. purchased it in 2006 and till this day hasn't given any problems at all. I did, last year, manage to damage my chain while doing some heavy lifting and despite the watch not being under warranty Citizen customer service arranged for a free repair and an added bonus was they replaced my watch screen for free (they discovered it had a very fine scratch on it). These watches are brilliant and are heavy. Their customer service is even better.

I've had a titanium citizen for 14 years. I only use it when I go on holiday, it stays in a drawer for 54 weeks of every year. It hasn't missed a beat. Starts up as soon as I put it on my wrist in a little day light. Superb.

How come? I went to 25m in Crete - the instructors are more laid back over there, that was like my 9th dive.
I think you're not meant to go that deep until you have more experience, but it didn't bother me.
Cristiano
11 Apr 16 #89
I used it constantly for maybe 4 years. And then bought a Longines which i wear everyday. The citizen I just like wearing on holiday, can use it at the beach in the pool and looks smart. And it has the time zone feature so it doesn't mater where u go. 1 press of a button and it changes the time for u, no winding your watch backwards or forwards. Just a nice little feature.

Got mine yesterday...not sure it's brand new. No plastic covering watch face and slight chipping of Citizen logo printed on the metal plate glued inside of box...hmmm...

Mine arrived this afternoon, suspicions are that it is a returned item although I seem to be lucky and it has no damage, an uncut strap and the limited edition number is both the same on the card and the back of the watch. Only issue seems to be it arrived in the Red Arrows box which takes away from it being limited edition. I will email them this evening and let you all know what they say!

They didnt get back to me about the box today.I have just rang them again spoke to Mitchell and he said he would try to get another box and let me know tomorrow.Ive lost a little confidence tbh.The watch itself is fine,im convinced its a return, but find it a little underwhelming for a previously priced £500 watch.Ill send it back if they dont have the box,the limited edition relies on it.

Mine delivered today, no clear protective film top or bottom and no paperwork, sent in a box clearly meant for a different watch. On the plus side cant see any fault or blemish on the watch but nevertheless as a limited edition I expected the packaging and paperwork to reflect that fact, will definitely be giving Goldsmiths a call tomorrow.
Ziad81
13 Apr 16 #106
Things doesn't sound good at all! Mine hasn't been delivered yet and with all the above feedback I can't say I'm looking forward for it now.

Quick Q for those who got it : The delivery was via the royal mail or other courier?
DubDriver
13 Apr 16 #107
It was delivered by DX Secure
DubDriver
13 Apr 16 2 #108
The results are in .... the watch is in perfect condition.
There were no transparent protective stickers on the face or back, though there was a black paper clasp protection strip in place.
The elastic string and tag was attached.
Like everyone else, the box is the wrong (red) one.
There was a little dab of blutack remains on the underside of the top which indicates that at some point the box had been on display no doubt showing off some other watch.
The card has the wrong number of 559, if you have that watch then let me know and I'll send you the card.
I'd be pleased to hear from you if you happen to have card 578!
As for the watch, it's fab! Much better than I expected. Scary shortening the band in case I messed up but the result looks neat (used a Stanley & steel rule).
The incorrect case doesn't bother me because I can't see myself selling it any time soon, specially as shortening the band somewhat limits who else it's going to fit and to replace with an original no doubt is pretty pricy.
Watch = 5/5 stars
Goldsmiths 0/5 stars.

Finally got mine from the clutches of DX courier. Perfect condition, with black display box. The aluminium description plate says limited to 2500 etc but boasts a genuine crocodile strap so I suspect that these are display models where some of the bits have got mixed up. I like the watch it looks very nice and is nicely weighted. Just have to wait for it to get charged up a bit more so I can test it and play with the buttons yay.

I like the look of the watch and it's s good price. But it sounds terrible from goldsmith, reducing an item and sending a load of seconds/returns to people. They should at least have mentioned this in the description.

I don't think Del Boy and Rodney would do that.

15 Apr 16 1 #117
I have now emailed both Goldsmiths and Citizen and am awaiting responses before I decide what to do. chriskeegan
18 Apr 16 1 #122
Just an update for everyone.

Since last week I have been in contact with both Goldsmiths and Citizen via email and I should commend both companies on there aftermarket customer services.

After explaining my issues to them Goldsmiths have now partially refunded my account with a £40 payment to cover the cost of a replacement strap due to the small scuff on it. As mentioned before the rest of the watch is in perfect condition so this was only a minor issue.

Citizen have also been able to send out a replacement black presentation box to my nearest Goldsmiths branch so I am able to go in and swap my Red Arrows box for the correct box which completed the limited edition aspect of the purchase.

So the moral of the story is I have ended up with what I originally intended to purchase in perfect condition for the even better deal of £160 thanks to both the OP, Goldsmiths and Citizen UK.
darrenjones2
18 Apr 16 #123
They said they couldnt source another box from Citizen for me.:disappointed: Liars.
Commended, they shouldnt of treated people so shoddy in the first place.
Ive sent mine back, and I wont be buying from them in future.
chriskeegan
18 Apr 16 #124
Unfortunately I dealt with Citizen directly about the box so Goldsmiths were not involved in that part of the process.

And I agree with what you are saying, I certainly don't commend them for there pre-service as the item was being mis-sold but there post-service has proven to be a lot better!
Ziad81
19 Apr 16 #125
In my case the watch never arrived despite contacting Goldsmith two times in the past 9 days, I've just called them again to cancel my order. Never again!
sabreliner
26 Apr 16 #126
Try as I might it looks like I've no hope of getting the correct presentation box but thankfully since the watch was delivered in perfect condition I decided to keep it. Been into a Goldsmiths branch and had them cut the strap to size for me (didn't want any mess up's doing it myself!) also a £40 cheque is on the way by way of compensation, so all things considered £160 for a £500 watch is more than agreeable result.

27 Apr 16 #127
Are you sure it's a cheque as they offered me a gift card ?

Our gift cards expire 2 years after the last use. Only one gift card can be used per transaction online. The card cannot be used to purchase other gift cards, and cannot be used retrospectively to pay for orders already purchased.
