I was searching for a new mower and was looking at a Bosch as I've had one before. I've noticed comments on here saying that the Rotaks vary in quality with the black grilled Rotak being the superior in comparison to the green grilled.
Not a bad price for this I think delivered from Amazon. I've just bought it so I hope this helps someone else out who's searching for one.

Yes you are right, these should be made in uk, others in China, these are far better

This is the Chinese one. Following great experience with an earlier type I foolishly bought one of these last year and am now on my second. Paid around £85 in Homebase. Absolutely hopeless! I thought the first was faulty but it seems they are all like that. Look fairly similar to the earlier type but with fancier handles (which are actually more difficult to use - poor ergonomics despite the name). Lacks power (though same 1400W rating), doesn't pick up all the grass if damp (unlike earlier type), shorter lead, etc., etc.
Bosch don't respond to email or phone calls.
I have lots of excellent Bosch stuff in my house, including the central heating boiler, but this is really letting the brand down.
Sadly these are best avoided now. Not sure what's better these days though. I'd prefer my old Bosch back.

Are you sure it's this model or the Ergoflex 37-14? As that usually retails for £85 on sale. As Ive read some reviews on that model and it sounds like you're describing that one. There's a review on Amazon (written by AllAboutMe), it's one of the top rated reviews, where he comments on buying both this model and the 37-14. He's quite thorough in detail and describes the 37-14 as having a short cable, inferior build quality etc but the model above is excellent in contrast.
Hopefully it'll do the job for me anyhow, I've got a medium sized garden that's fairly flat, but thanks for the info.

Very good mowers in my experience. I got my first about 6 years ago after the flymo died and it's still going strong but I just bought a larger one (the 43) after moving house and getting a bigger garden. Pleased with both.

I thought the UK models were the 40 range and the Chinese were the 30 range.

I have a small garden and looking for a small lawnmower. Any suggestion for good lawnmower?
I have looked at Bosch Rotak 32R, but not sure of the quality as I have seen mixed reviews.

I recently bought the Qualcast cordless 24v mower for around £110 from argos, I really like it and the price seems to fluctuate quite a bit so it will probably be around that price again soon

I recently got the 34R from Amazon and it's pretty good apart from the crappy plastic grass box. It's very powerful, shreds up the grass finely and picks up every bit even when damp.
It's pretty heavy and clumsy to manoeuvre compared with a Flymo but the cut is much better.

This is definitely the UK one as i have checked my Amazon order history and this is the one i bought last year, made in UK just checked the label
I did get the cheaper Chinese 36R one and sent it back but this is way better, cuts damp grass with ease and sucks up the majority of the grass
