Used to be my favourite butter but it's tasted awful since it was taken over by Arla. Given that it doesn't come from New Zealand any more i think £1 is about the right price for it without the benefit of an offer.

Are there any experts on butter here? Is there any real difference between different brands, and prices of butter. I just use the ASDA/Sainsburys own brand at around 87 pence. Looking at the ingredients I cannot work out any difference. Perhaps the dearer brands come from a higher social class of cow?

Well Newbold reckons Aldi butter is Country Life in disguise at about 75p for 250g. Interesting I am going to try....

The Aldi salted is indeed Country Life (same code on packs) and the unsalted is unsalted Anchor (same code on packs). :wink:
