That phone looks absolutely abysmal but I can't see any detail on the tablet. Might be worth having in the hope that it becomes a good trade-in in future.
Wow. Was expecting a nasty 1024x600 thing but it's even worse.
Avoid these like the plague. Completely worthless devices.

You get what you pay for. Tablet can be useful for younger kids to use for games/simple educational purposes.

I bought one of these phones on the £15 Tesco deal here on HUKD because I was sick of my little one dropping my phone when I had an S7 Edge coming I needed to break the habit.
Perfectly usuable phone for Youtube and basic games, even dropped a dozen times by my 3 year old who I got it for, built like an old school Nokia.
Hopefully the tablet is similar in its build quality.

That's only your opinion. For some people, this is ideal to give to a youngster, not everyone can afford to buy higher spec models and to get both a phone and tablet under £50 will be a godsend to some of the less well off.

It won't feel like much of a bargain once your kid starts to winge at you every time they try to do something on it but find it too slow and unresponsive to work properly.

Depend on the age of the kid etc. I guess compared to not affording a tablet, and having a basic one that's within your budget....
It's all down to personal preference and situations.

Try bringing kids up not to whine, to have patience... crosses over into money saving/deal scouting
