Cheap Core i3 laptop but has the faster 5005U 2.0GHz processor instead of the 4005U 1.7GHz which seem to be common in other, similar machines. Ebuyer reduction of £59.35.

Good deal. Intel hardware of this level is not easily found in such cheap machines.
Wish manufacturers would start pumping the resolution a bit even in budget laptops though. Higher res panels have dropped in price so much the past few years. It really wouldn't hurt to have at least 1600 x 900 these days for a 15 inch laptop. I'm not even one that demands the highest and maddest resolution either, just feel in these cases more resolution is justified.

I was looking for a laptop for my OH for browsing, office work and occasional catch up TV. Couldn't really find anything that ticked all the boxes (she wanted 14" that still had a decent sized HD and light). I probably would have gone for this instead, but as always a deal comes up after the event.

I voted hot cos I haven't seen anything with that type of processor for this price. I really wish it would come with a SSD option (even if it was higher in price). I much prefer SSD as the boot drive these days, and use external storage for my large files.
Looking over the last few weeks though and it doesn't look like they put SSD in budget machines.

I was hoping to find the same but my OH didn't want to spend more than £300, so that why I went for the one I did, cheap and cheerful (hopefully cheerful).

This is what I've ordered anyway http://www.medion.com/gb/shop/budget-laptops-medion-akoya-e4213-md99547-30019565a1.html £259 (with £10 off code) Heard the name before but not many reviews, fingers crossed it ok. Comes with a 24 month warranty and seems a decent spec for the price.
